Escape 01 | Video
[It takes some fumbling around, but eventually Anders thinks that he does have the strange magical amulet working like he was told that it would. Well, presuming that this isn't a strange plan to make him feel like a fool, that is. He does wonder that part a little as he clears his throat and offers a bright smile to whoever might be watching him.]
While I'm still rather new to this whole 'kidnapped from everything you know' bit and trying to get used to it all, one thing I can tell is when a healer might come in handy. Now I might be reading this wrong, but it seems like there's a bit of an illness going around, yes? I haven't had the chance to find out much more than that, but... I'd like to help, if I can.
[He shrugs and his smile edges just a little towards being nervous.]
I don't know what sorts of opinions people have on mages and magic here either, but hopefully no one's about to go running to the Chantry to turn me in? Or at least be the type to give a man a head start first, I hope.
[It feels strange to try and talk to something that can't answer so, with a sigh and a small amount of fumbling with the amulet, Anders manages to turn off the feed.]

I know not this Warden Commander. Last I heard, all but two of the Grey Wardens in Ferelden died in Ostagar.
no subject
[Especially since he'd been innocent of what Rylock had claimed, but at least the Warden Commander had believed him there. Anders brightens a bit at the topic, though what Zevran knows seems strange.]
That was months ago! The Warden Commander was one of those two Grey Wardens, yes, but that was before defeating the Blight and everything. Are you from so far away that you didn't know the Blight was over?
no subject
It is defeated, then? At least in your time.
no subject
Is that really possible? For someone here to come from before someone else--
[He realises then that it might also explain how Fenris knew his name, but why the elf didn't feel like telling him anything else, Anders can't imagine. He doesn't mind telling Zevran that the Blight was over, after all. It's good news, isn't it?]
The Archdemon's gone, yes, but there was a little trouble with the darkspawn after that. That's why the Warden Commander - the one you probably know as just a Warden - had to recruit more of us.
no subject
[Why bother to worry about it? It is what it is, or if it isn't, then he knows no better.]
Tell me... I don't suppose you heard the fate of a certain handsome elf assassin who acted as companion to the amazing Warden?
no subject
[Still smiling, Anders continues.] The Commander didn't talk too much about anyone from before, bit busy with cleaning up the last of the darkspawn and I got the impression that some people had just... disappeared somewhere, but I think there was a mention of you heading off to settle a debt in Antiva. That's all I know, I'm afraid.
no subject
As for the Warden Commander...] Surely you do not mean Alistair? There's talk of him becoming King. [Which is sort of a bigger title than Warden Commander, though that, perhaps, suits him more.]
no subject
[Anders shakes his head in surprise.] No, King Alistair isn't who I meant. He was the one who allowed me to be conscripted, though, so I owe him as well. No, I meant the Warden Commander. Surely you must have met him?

no subject
No, he's definitely male, an elven mage as well. We were in the Circle together, though we weren't particularly close. Are you certain you have the right Warden?
[Which really is odd to ask since there were only two of them from Ferelden but... Anders can't think what else is going on.]
no subject
[Zevran is strangely solemn about this, suddenly.]
Perhaps it is one more trick of this place. Or perhaps you are lying to me for some reason. Time will tell. [He gives a satisfied little twist of a smile.]
no subject
But if it is something to do with this place... could that mean that we're both right? How can there be different versions of the Commander that aren't even the same race?
no subject
I once overheard Alistair saying Duncan looked for recruits all over the place. Highever, the alienage, amidst the Dalish, he even looked among the dwarves...
[He shakes his head briefly.]
Well, I have no reason not to believe you. I suppose this will make reminiscing about your past and my future awkward, so, let us not speak of it further.
[Because frankly this is all beyond him.]

[Anders returns Zevran's smile with a pleased and more than a little flirty one of his own.]
Although even if I'm not there, I'd always happy to have the company of a handsome elf, especially if you ever really need me...
no subject
...I may find I need you for a matter of a personal nature, yes. Perhaps if you prescribed me a bottle of wine...
no subject
[And unlike in the Keep, he wouldn't have to wrestle such a thing from Oghren's sweaty hands either.]
no subject
Is there a particular variety you find to be more... therapeutic? I can make sure to produce the one you suggest.
no subject
He laughs easily at Zevran's offer, leaning closer to the device like he might if they were speaking face to face.] Oh, you do know how to win a mage over. I only wish the tower had given me enough experience in wines to suggest something really worthwhile.
[Still, he makes a show of deliberating for a moment.] Perhaps something from Orlais or Tevinter? Unless you have a better suggestion, I'm just fairly certain Ferelden wines aren't going to really be as good.
i had the greatest line planned about finding something cranky from tevinter but TIMELINES
[A brief smile.] Except us. It seems there are those who speak Orlesian here, though they call it something different. I shall endeavor to find something comparable to what is found in Orlais...?
lol ONE DAY
[Anders shrugs, but he can't quite bring himself to laugh off the fact it bothers him on some level.]
But I suppose if it's close enough in everything but the name, then hopefully the drink will be good too. Maker knows we could probably all use one after being brought here, and I don't know about you, but I haven't had the chance to see any of the taverns or brothels yet.
no subject
--I must take you to a wonderful bar run by my dream girl. [That would be death.] I'm sure you would love her smile, and the first drink for newcomers is on the house.
