video; oo8 (saturday before sirens)
[Greetings, Siren's Port. The face you'll be seeing is one that vanished from the Port a few days ago, but more than that it just... looks different. Older and younger all at once, free of the weight and pain that had been lining it before, the stress and insanity. Instead, in its place, is pure relief. As if the weight of the universe had been lifted off his shoulders.
Oh. And he looks like he might have just fallen through a window.]
Siren's Port? I'm really... this is the Port? Again? Now...? [His voice is strained, shaky, as if he's just about to completely lose control of his emotions] How... how long was I gone? Was it that long? Days? Months?
Is everyone still here? Jack? Washu? Jubilee? All you angel blokes?
... Rose?

voice.
[He's quietly curious, actually, easily overlooked.]
voice.
A few... months, I think. Maybe close to a year? It's hard to tell, time is... it wasn't really that linear. Did a lot, saw a lot, didn't really keep track.
It was definitely months, though. At least.
voice.
Not linear?
[...Well, it wasn't as if he wasn't acquainted with time travelers.]
Being stuck here again must feel strange, then.
[Or not. That was way too much cheer for someone who's stuck.]

He's only just uttered her name by the time she stumbles to a stop just at the edges of the diamond, eyes blazing.]
Doctor...
action
At least until that voice comes to him. A voice he hasn't heard for months. Even longer than that, if he listened to his Port-less memories.
In a flash, he's up, stumbling and tripping forward, the pull of exhaustion - mental and physical - causing his head to spin a bit before he focuses. And then he's running, moving forward and screw it if she wasn't ready for it. There's no Dalek to interrupt them this time.
He's sweeping her up in a hug whether she likes it or not]
action
Of course she likes it. Loves it. Among other things.]

Wouldn't have it any other way, Cap. You weren't too lonely while I was gone, were you?

I pined. Desperately.

[she can't keep the sadness out of her expression, though she soldiers through it anyway]
Do you need help?

Told you, didn't I? No matter what happens, we always come back. Can't leave our dear ship on her own.
[He shakes his head, his voice softening a bit]
I have everything I need, now. [Oh he can't help that grin and slightly too emotional laugh] I'm back.

So you are. What happened when you left?

[A shrug.]
Couple weeks ago, everyone got hit with sins, but that was fun.
[Hey, she enjoyed it. She doesn't know about the rest of you.]

Decided to pop back for a quick vacation, actually. Spent a while in the tropics. Have a nice way of mixing rum and coconut to knock you out for a good while.

This, at least, wasn't from the field or any physical repercussions of unprotected temporal displacement. Took a bit of a tumble through a window a few minutes ago.

It's only been a few days, here. And do I have to get lumped with the rest of the 'blokes'? I'm still a girl on the outside, you know.
video
Well, aside from Time Lords that is. Still half convinced my future self was actually female given all that hair...
[Oh how the Port missed his babblings]

video;
By your standards, not that long, actually.
[ She flashes him a brief smile. ]
video;
Aw c'mon Amy. [His voice is softer, more reassuring] If anything, this just proves I have a rather annoying boomerang sort of tendency. Always manage to come back one way or another. Especially if there's trouble to get into.
