[shifting]

[Sam is sitting in his chair, tossing a tennis ball between his hands. contemplative. Frustrated.]

Since I've been trainin' hellhound puppies for the past couple weeks, I'd like to talk with everybody 'bout a topic I'm pretty familiar on - dogs and dominance.

Now, this is somethin' about dogs a lot of people think they understand, but really don't. For one thing, a lot of people don't understand how big it is in socialization. It's as important as it is with people, even if people aren't as ready to admit it's important to them too. We like to view everything as bein' equal, and everybody bein' on the same keel.

Well, dogs don't. Dogs like to know where they stand with each other. They like knowin' who's in charge and what's expected of them. Makes 'em feel safe, makes 'em feel secure. So there are dominant dogs and submissive dogs. And just like with people, dominant dogs can be fuckin' jerks about their power once they know they have it. They can use it to bully everybody else in the pack, just like people do with other people. Or they can be aggressive with everybody they meet no matter how they're treated 'cause they're mentally unstable, same with people.

But here's the difference - dogs don't pick fights they don't think they can win. Not the smart and sane ones. ...And right now you're probably rememberin' some time you've seen a tiny dog pick a fight with a doberman, and you're thinkin' I'm full of shit. Except that most times when that happens, that small dog's with their owner. That's a whole different matter - that's knowin' you've got backup, and a way out of the situation if you bite off more'n you can chew. 'Course, there's times a small dog'll run a bigger dog off, and that's got to do with how confident that big dog is in their size. There's times you can gruff your way through a situation on sheer posutrin', but that's a risky game. An' dogs know it. Most times, the moment the other dog proves he's not gonna buy it - which often means bitin' or a physical tussle - the smarter, smaller dog gives the game up. They crouch low and they stay quiet, 'cause it's clear they can't push their way through his situation. They don't crouch with a snarl, they don't roll over with a growl - they just fuckin' crouch low and wait for the situation to defuse. Or they run.

[He catches the ball one last time and leans forward, staring steadily] You know why they do that? Because it's not fuckin' worth it. Pushin' a situation you can't win, mouthin' off and actin' like a smartass when it's just been proved your ass can't handle what you're spoutin' is suicide. You don't challenge a healthy, strong dominant when you're weaker'n they are and you've got no one to dig you out. You just don't do it. You wait 'til they're weak, 'til they're sick, and you know you've got a chance. Challengin' before that is only goin' to tip 'em off and put them on their guard anyhow.

Now, this ain't the same as when you've got somethin' real to guard. When some bear or wolf or whatever comes into a dog's territory and threatens 'em, or their pups, or their people or their pack - that's different. Then a fight might be your only option to keep your people safe. Not always, but sometimes, sure. But when you've got nothin' at stake - when you're just growlin' at someone dangerous 'cause you don't like them, or you don't like what they do or they did, and you don't have the means at the time to do somethin' about it - you aren't protectin'. You're challenging. Which makes it a matter of proving dominance, and which means that 'less you wanna come out of it maimed or dead, you'd better know your weight beforehand.

The fuck we are! [she grabs the bed pillow to thwack Lucifer across the face with it]

[thelightbringer]

Hey-!

[He jerks back like a startled cat. Then throws the other pillow at her.]

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth now.

[shifting]

Gift - ! [STANDING. ON HER WOMANLY LEGS. THERE IS A VAGINA BETWEEN THEM. A VAGINA.

She points a finger at him, breasts a-heavin'.] You'd damn well better be able to fix this.

[thelightbringer]

Of course I can. You've seen me change.

[He pats the bed.]

So just enjoy it.

[shifting]

Oh uh-uh. I'm gonna need my cock back before my ass goes anywhere near that bed.

[thelightbringer]

Ok. We don't need the bed.

[In a flash he's up, the lamp swept off the bedside table, Sam's naked ass set firmly on it.]

Come on, Sam. Educate me. What have I been missing?

[shifting]

[she gasps, suddenly very naked and very prone, and very aware of Lucifer's body between her legs, the wood of the nightstand under her (rather plush) butt. She's grabbed onto the angel's shoulders out of surprise, swallowing at the sudden rush of heat.

...Okay, so she's turned on. Not the point.]

Jackass. [wow, arousal feels weird in a woman's body. It's - deeper.] Is that what this is?

[thelightbringer]

What else would it be?

[He slides his fingertips down her thighs.]

[shifting]

I mean are you makin' a point? [goosebumps prickle on her thighs. She squirms a bit, tentatively rubs her leg along his. Still u n s u r e about this but not... completely opposed. It's just. Weird.]

[thelightbringer]

Something like that. [Up her thighs now, slowly.] Maybe I just want to know what I've been missing.

[shifting]

An' it's too much trouble to go make friends with an actual woman? [her arms gradually relax, looping around his neck and petting the nape of it, brushing up into his hair. She licks her lips]

...Don't tell me you're gettin' lazy now.

[thelightbringer]

Maybe I'm bashful.

[He kisses her lower lip and his fingers explore her new anatomy, inside and out.]

[shifting]

Yeah ri-

[one moment, processing the warm fingers slipping inside her and oh dear lord that's a brand new feeling. She muffles any sound with a harsh kiss, her legs squeezing his sides like she's planning on trapping him]

[thelightbringer]

See?

[is all he gets out before she kisses him. He slides two fingers into her, and uses his other hand to manipulate her clit]

[shifting]

[ohhhh wow. She bites and sucks on his lower lip, curling her fingers into his back. When she breaks from the kiss, she's panting.] This - stays between us. All right?

[thelightbringer]

If I run to the tabloids I'll give you a fake name. Nothing to worry about.

[shifting]

And you're gonna change me back right after this? [she takes Lucifer's free hand, drawing two fingers into her mouth, curling her tongue over the pink tips and watching him carefully]

[thelightbringer]

[He presses closer, breathing more shallow]

Well...since you asked so nicely...

[shifting]

[she nips them, gives one last long, luxurious suck and then lets them go.]

...Then get to learnin' already. [and those would be her thighs tightening around his hips]

[thelightbringer]

[Lucifer unfastens his jeans, doesn't allow himself to look too eager. He kisses her, leaning her back as he presses into her.]

[shifting]

[she groans, buries it in Lucifer's shoulder along with her teeth as she clings to him, muscles twitching. It's a feeling unlike anything she's ever known. Certainly never as a man, and well - this was Hour One as a woman]damn... [there's some pain, but he's hitting this spot at just the right angle and it's driving her crazy]. Her hips rock into him

[thelightbringer]

[He grips her under her thighs, positioning her where he can thrust in deep.]

Sam...

[shifting]

Say it again. [nails in his shoulders, arching into him. Her voice is right next to his ear.]

[thelightbringer]

[Her voice, the brush of warm breath against his ear, drags a moan--her name again--from him as he pushes slowly into her.

Then abruptly he has her on the bed, standing while she's on her back held half off the mattress, thrusting sharp and fast into her.]

[shifting]

[her head is swimming, her hands tangling in the sheets, supported entirely by the bed and Lucifer's pounding hips. She's loud - never one to hold herself back in bed, and the sounds are less than human.

It hurts, but that's part of what makes it so amazing - how good it feels despite the roughness, the sting. Her back arches at a sharp angle, and she crosses her legs behind Lucifer's back like a steel trap.]
