I know there are holidays for stuff like Halloween and Christmas, but who made a holiday for pie? I mean, people eat it even when it's not today, right?

Well yeah, but this is an extra excuse to. It's actually technically named after the number pi, but the food is how you celebrate.

Wait, how is pie a number? I don't think I get it.

It's named after a greek letter pi - spell P-I - and it's a math thing. 3.14 something- it's the, uh, when you're calculating the area of a circle or something?

[Guess who is not a math person.]

So that number is the area of every circle?

No, it's a number you use in the formulas when you're calculating stuff about circles. Like- every circle's circumference.... divided by its... diameter? Is pi.

Or- okay, it's something like that. I don't remember.
