[ this is Mary Jane Watson. it's pretty lateish at night and she's laying on a bed in a tanktop and sweats, hair pulled back. there's a book open before her and she's tapping a pencil against her bottom lip when she speaks up. ]

Hi, everyone. It's -- uh -- it's MJ again and I promise I won't start screaming or freaking out over this. I just have a question.

Like, I understand the major gist of this place, right? The Darkness and the Core, the big Two and so on, but... can you guys talk to me about your powers? The ones you have or the ones that were given to you. [ she pauses, twirling her pencil around her fingers ]

Just anything about them. I'm curious.

[ there's a beat, as she considers saying more and then: ]

Well, thanks.

I'm one of the people who had powers before they came here. I can do all sorts of stuff. Fly, use magic like Fire and Blizzard. I can heal. Most of the stuff I know is about fighting. But I can also do stuff like help you back into an apartment if you get locked out. It's kinda handy!

Well, flying and magic I get, but what's with the.... lock powers? That's a little weird, isn't it?

Just curious, I guess. I've been thinking about ones I could have and this just kind of came up.

[He jerks a thumb at his chest with a grin.]

I like to think it makes me a jack of all trades.

[A nod.] So I'm guessing you're one of the people who came here without powers?

It all sounds pretty useful. So are you like, a superhero then or something?

[ a pause and she nods ]

Yeah, I'm just a regular ol' high school girl. No powers for me.

Yup! [And he lifts a nifty looking communicator to the screen with all the enthusiasm of a kid showing off a new toy.] I used to be a Junior Hero 'til I came an honorary Teen Titan!

Pretty cool, huh?

A Teen Titan? Are they like the Ultimates or something?

I haven't heard of the Ultimates, but if that's some kind of superhero team, then yup! You're right on the mark, MJ.

So how long've you been in Siren's Port?

Oh, that's cool! Do you have a superhero name then?

Uh -- maybe a few months. I've been here since January.

[He laughs sheepishly.] Well... I do have one, but uh...

[He rubs the back of his neck.] Raven says it needs a lot of work.

What is it?

Promise you won't laugh?

Cross my heart.

We don't really go by superhero names, but we still have a team name. I'm Sora, then there's Donald Duck and Goofy.

And all three of us? [Said with a bit of excitement.] We're the The Keyblade Brigade!

[A more relaxed stance.] Something like that.

[ s-snerk ]

Why keyblades?

Heyyy... whatever happened to no laughing?

[He'll explain in a second. He just... has to make sure of one thing before he does:]

You're not a part of SERO, right?

S-sorry. [ muffled noise ] No, I'm not part of either of them.

[He slumps.] That's two votes for 'needs a lot of work.'

Coming up with superhero names is hard...

[But after a small sigh, he straightens. Since she's not from SERO, and she certainly doesn't look like a shady character so... it's probably okay. There's a few clicks of his NV an the feed becomes private.]

[Sora reaches off screen, and there just might be a soft ringing sound, a chime, before Sora holds up what looks like a rather large key up to the feed.]

This here? This is a keyblade. It's what I fight with back home.

You fight with a key? How does that work?

Well, in my world, it works kinda like a sword! Or a bat, sometimes...

[He's never really stopped to think about it until now.]

It's stronger than it looks!

That's still kind of a weird choice in weapon, honestly.

Mmmm. Well, not everybody can shoot webs or dress up like a bat. Or fly even.

[A small chuckle- each a reference to the city's most prominent superheroes.]
