[The screen flickers on and before it stands a pale creature with black hair and a long white coat. His eyes are red as rubies, lips bloodless pale in a faint smile
He tips his head to the side, hands clasped behind his back and when he speaks the voice is childish, affecting a lilt at the end of his words]
Canada. Aha.
[His tongue is pointed as it darts out to wet his lips]
I see through your trap. Nazis. You’ve mastered killing off your own kind but fail so badly at humor.
[Those red eyes take on an inner glow, burning like hellfire. Shadows thicken and draw forward, velvety fingers licking at his boots, at the shadowed hem of his coat]
I’ll have my Coffin and my human, now. [He looks left. Then right.
Then up.
Then down, back on the NV.
His tone is solemn, scolding, though the smile at the corners of his mouth deepens] No? [His bloodless lips pull back in a ghoulish smile, revealing dainty fangs that grow longer, sharper, two sets of upper canines, two sets of lower canines]
Then I shall huff and puff and tear this whole island down.

[He's not put off, but leers slightly] Arthur has interesting preferences.
[And in the midst of the amusement, he stops, freezes, because he can feel it now, like lightning in the blood, tracing through each artery and vein. Oh.] Oh.

The frightening whinnying became as tangible as sharp Bowie knives as the zealous teacher who once lead those brave men into the mouth of Hell rose up on the horizon of the brittle streets, sparks flying up beneath the galloping iron hooves of the massive black beast he rode atop. His silhouette before the morning sun was unmistakable, reigns in his left hand, a gold crucifix in his right, his body cloaked in a sanguine duster so that his foes would look upon their most comforting color and writhe with fear.
Their eyes would meet from mere meters away, boring down on him as God doth judge the Damned along with a Testimonial voice that instilled that he was of the true Lord's Right hand.]
ALUCAAARD!!

So bloody help me, Alucard, if you've caused any trouble...
[The irate young man stepped forwards boldly. Walter's hair was as dark as ever, his skin as ashen as the night he'd been in Warsaw, and his scent nearly the same mix of cigarette smoke, starched cloth, and blood-- though, the scent of ammunition propellant was a great deal stronger than it had been in the days of World War Two.]
I'll cut you apart and drag you away in pieces!

The ferocity of Abraham's arrival made her step back even though his ire was not focused on her. She straightens.] Sir!

The grin was back, even as his eyes widened in surprise at the visage of his beloved nemesis alive after decades after his death. There was a difference in hearing and in seeing. This was Abraham van Helsing. There was no mistake, even if that lightning in the blood connection had not been reestablished.
He met Abraham's gaze unflinching, eyes narrowing in fear, admiration, loathing and craving. Loyalty.
It was complicated.
Walter's words drew him out of it. He barely turned his head as he passed the boy] Tch, you're late and you lost my Coffin.
[He continued past Walter, eyes not leaving his Master and stopped a meter away from Abraham and his mount.
And dropped to one knee. It was a sign of obedience, yes, but of respect. Not one oft repeated, but for this occasion...] Master.
1/2
The presence of his urge to snicker was plain with the light twitch of his sharply stubbled mouth. So this was the little discrepancy Walter hadn't wished to speak on. There was hardly a wonder.]
He who is unfashionably late is you, Vampir. Three months und one year on this isle. Alas, amongst its plague of blood thirsting rats with no competent piper to lead them back to dust but myself und my men, it has been a wonder, most wondered when you would return from your lazing about.

What is this shape? Does your madness regress you so far that even the innocence of a child you feel need to corrupt?

The last time Walter had seen that coffin, it had been right next to its owner. If anyone was to blame for its misplacement, it was the vampire. Or the bloody Core. But it was no fault of his.
Still, in the wake of the exchange taking place before him, Walter was quiet. But while master and slave spoke, the willing servant in the background bristled with indignation.]

She clasps her hands in front of herself, standing a little awkwardly and glancing down at the teenager from the corner of her eye, observing the stiff set of his jaw.]

He'll make it up to you.
For now, he does not struggle in Abraham's grasp and instead, purses his mouth] Apologies for my tardiness. [And allows a sharkish smile, even in the face of this man.] As for the form, it was by preference of my Master, Arthur Hellsing, perhaps he wanted a matched set. [And then his eyes flicked to Walter.]

He had made it so the creature would have never forgotten him. His terrible visage burned beneath his eyelids so that even sleep would not comfort him. Miss Victoria had the privilege to never know his true wrath, for she had come to him willingly.
Meticulous fingers readjusted the vampire's tie before he let him go and drew back to his full height, arms crossing as his thoughts moldered over his queer offspring.]
What humor has he. Nevertheless, I wager it suits for the time being. The man who aid you in your doom awaits us back at our manor house. Doctor John Seward. The short sight of you t'would have less impact I surmise.
[At that he finally allowed his kingly laughter to flutter in his chest. What an absurd mess.]
I will make it clear that he is off limits to you in every facet. Should I hear of you harassing him in any manner I will hesitate not to have you dipped in boiling holy water und hung in the daylight to dry.
[As much of a joke Alucard looked, Van Helsing had no humor when giving orders and the threats that would take place should they be disobeyed were severe.]
That is your first order.
[One of thousands to come. It would be a promise sealed with his cruel smile. A kindness that killed.]
Welcome back to me, Vampir Alucard.
[With that he stepped back, looking to Walter with a gesture that he may go greet his former partner.]

The glance immediately broke when the distinct reference to his own self reached the young butler's ears, his storm-grey eyes snapping to meet with the vampire's fiery red for that brief instant before the professor released his grip on the nosferatu and put an end to the silence that had momentarily settled over the air.
Professor Van Helsing had his full attention then. His instructions, his threats; they all burned clearly into Walter's memory. These were commands, and it was part of Walter's duties to see that they were followed smoothly. And yet, his partner was not the only recipient of Abraham's directives— for without a doubt when the aged master finished in his speaking he cast a silent look Walter’s way, and with a gesture equal in its soundlessness but for the rustling of his great duster guided the perturbed servant to come forth to their side and speak his mind.
And draw near, Walter did, the young man coming to a halt less than two feet from his partner. He was silent for a moment, at a loss for what to say— what could he say without breaking the tentative peace that hung in the air like a gossamer web? He was still very much upset by his partner’s words.
Inevitably, though, the words came; a banal reprimand spoken with the sullen tone of a child not yet ready to forgive a perceived transgression.]
…I grew a whole inch waiting for you. Idiot.
[He was taller, as the vampire would no doubt be able to see. By an inch and one quarter.]

Her Master, her Master and he didn't know her. Ever since her memories of home had returned to her she had wanted in some way to see him, to hear him, most importantly of all she had wanted his approval that she had finally drank the blood she had so long refused and embraced her new nature. But this wasn't that Alucard.
Walter's comment makes a smile crack her face, regardless. Subsequent to Abraham's release of her Master it seems like things are finally slipping into some order.]
no subject
For now.]
So ordered.
[With Bram's back turned he arched a brow an watched Walter's approach, grinning.]
So you have, Angel of Death. A year? How strange to think when I saw you only hours ago.
[An apology though not outright.]
Such a place, this.

[A month in which he wandered, wounded and without companionship, sleeping in odd places during the day and remaining awake in the shelters at night because he hadn't trusted in the safety of the touted 'Newcomer Apartments' one bit. It was only when he met Integra that he had agreed to stay in one of the tower flats— to keep her company and watch out for her while they accumulated enough funds to move out of the blasted place.]
What have you learned about this place so far?
no subject
Hn. [A disagreeable noise in the back of his throat; Alucard disliked the idea of Walter here alone, likely unsure of his circumstance. The boy was his hunting partner and having his things toyed with irked the vampire. But Walter was a hunter in his own right, a survivor and Alucard would expect no less than survival from him in a situation such as this.]
Did you believe what you were told here, the Core, the companies?
[Then a laugh, delighted.] Hoh- darkness monsters, I am told. And vampires. Many things.
no subject
Uh, yes. Quite a lot of vampires. They're sort of accepted here. [Though given recent circumstances...]
no subject
They are. Though the recent little incident in the news might change the way the public sees them.
[His voice had taken on a slightly caustic tone, hinting at the displeasure he still felt over not having been permitted to dispose of the animalistic creatures that had gone on a rampage the in the past weeks.]
I'll tell you all about that and them when we get back.
[Walter had compiled notes on all the variants of vampirism and anything remotely similar to it that he'd either run into or heard about while on the island; a wealth of information all written down in a little leather-skinned journal and stored in the drawer of the nightstand in his bedroom.]
As for the companies— they're quite real, and quite the disgusting lot at that. One, I think, shall catch your eye more than the other. The Core's more of a theory though— a catch-all to explain 'we don't really know what the hell is going on'. There's a few scraps of information here and there, but most people don't really have a bloody clue.
no subject
These darkness monsters...[He looks to Seras and then Walter] You hunt them? [Because he wants to hunt them. He wants to hunt and kill and rend to bits something after the interrupted promise of war and unmitigated destruction.]
Hn.[He says in response to the answers about the Core- or lack of answers as it were. Alucard is not the head, nor the trigger finger, he is the gun, he is the bullet, these sort of things are not in his purview to attempt to puzzle out. He is not the killing intent, he is only the weapon and needs to be aimed.]

[Ah, the terrible misfortune of vampires having their existence openly acknowledged; the groups that hunted them were also dragged into the limelight.
As it was, they did not get to hunt vampires on a regular basis. Hunting the other lesser creatures en masse was all that he could do to keep his skills sharp and his instincts intact for the rare occasion that he actually did get to fight a vampire— not that the ones here were particularly impressive. They were actually rather weak.]
no subject
[He would be disappointed to hear that, though he's yet to find a vampire opponent even back home that was powerful enough to release any restrictions higher than three.]
With this interconnected system of communication, I can guess little remains private. An island and a limited population, people will gossip like ladies at court.

[A reference to the code-breakers at Bletchley Park, the people behind the cracking of the Germans' Enigma cypher.
He was beginning to relax now, the indignation of moments prior slipping into a corner of his mind as he fell into the routine of answering questions and commenting back at other answers. He was even at ease enough to turn to his partner, addressing the question that surely lingered, unasked, in his mind.]
But as for hunting monsters of the darkness... with the professor's permission, I would not mind showing you some of the more challenging areas. Not that I can guarantee they'll hold your interest forever.
no subject
[He tipped his head down, watching Walter with glowing eyes] And always with the professor's permission. And with his permission, to somewhere less open? [He wanted to know about the previous vampire attacks.]
