I know it means nothing to apologize for my actions, but I feel I must. My actions were forced, but it was I who could not control myself. I am sorry to defile the name of vampire for others here in the Port. I am also gravely sorrowful for the victims and their families.

It does little to say these words, and I know what I have done.

And I failed. It took me two thousand years to become this. A week would do nothing save for destroying the city.

The only reason you're alive is because you can still better yourself. You can be the example others need. If not your own kind, then humans.

If you go to Purgatory you will never be able to make it up to anyone. Nothing good comes from giving up.

But we're here, Godric, and here even death isn't a sure thing. This is a second chance. You're needed here, in ways you never were at home.

[He breaks off abruptly, because it's not really about vampires at all. He couldn't care less what vampires are 'really' like; he wants them all dead anyway.]

I come with you and we somehow make this place better? How does turning me into a wanted murderer achieve this?
