[ The view shows the city after Dark, illuminated by its sparse, lukewarm lights that dotted the streets and the buildings. It seems like the recording device is floating in the air, thanks to this view. There is a heavy, repeating noise, like massive wings flapping in a steady, rhythmic beat.

The NV's owner is not seen, but he speaks, a heavy, clearly inhuman voice. ]

So much despair and bloodshed in these past nights. By evil or by evil's victims, it is hard to say.

In some ways I miss the evil of home, where it is clear where and how to fight. There the causalities, and they are either missed or celebrated in its demise. But here, the difference is not as so clear, even to me, who has lived for so long. A shame of my fault. As a son of Paladine, the god of justice and all that is good, I should have hold the wisdom to know the difference.

But I do not, it bothers me. So tell me this: how can you tell?

[ Clark isn't flying so much as hovering. Hovering is new to him - he's only been doing it for a few months - but it's useful for surveying the city, and concentrating on what was going on below rather than on where to land. He makes quite a brightly coloured obstacle in the night sky. ]

That's part of why I hated fighting monsters so much. Eventually you can't even tell the difference.

When monsters trend between shadow and the light, their forms blur, and the eyes can longer be trusted.

My heart can't tell the monsters from the men. A few weeks ago, I was attacked by the man in the news feed- Saint Valentine. He was my friend.

How can we tell the difference?

A difficult question. I have walked among men, but I acknowledge that I am too different, too much of a dragon to understand their nuances and subtleties.

Perhaps there is no real way to tell the difference, only to pray and hope we are correct.

Light cannot cast its brightness without shadow, this is true.

You could even say that... without it, a lot of things would fall apart. Not literally, since it already does that, at night.
