19 (VIDEO) | forward dated to post-morning sirens
[ As what has become something of a usual custom, Franziska makes her video broadcast in the early hours of the morning, sitting at a table with a cup of coffee on hand; sunglasses perched atop her head. ]
Good morning, Siren's Port. My name is Franziska von Karma and I see much has changed in the … year, is it, since I was here last. Honestly? Many of these changes have not been for the better. [ She takes a sip of her coffee. ] If anybody could provide me with a summary of what I've missed while I've been gone, it would be appreciated. If, however, you're only going to whine at me to read the network archives, I would implore you to waste your breath for someone who actually cares. Then we can both get on with our mornings.
That being said, I would primarily like to hear on the current status of the Newcomer Fund and the NPP, as this is the information that is most relevant to my interests. [ A beat, she sets her mug down. ]
And perhaps, any changes that might have occurred in the judicial system. [ And she's not going to say anything more on that matter, because she's sure the people who knew her from back when she first arrived will ask their questions without further needless prompting. ] That would be of interest to me as well.
Finally, I've looked at enough of the network archives to notice that there was... [ and she scowls now, her glare breaking across the reasonably neutral expression she'd been doing her best to maintain ]… some alternate timeline version of myself here for some number of months. Seeing as she's no longer here, I think it would be for the best that we forget that ever happened. It's irrelevant, really. Talking about it would be a waste of time.
[ ...Perhaps it would have been better to not bring the matter up at all, upon reflection, but she couldn't have said nothing. People were going to ask. ]
So don't mention it.
[ She links her hands together on the table in front of her. ]
That's all for now. I have every intention of getting back to work as quickly as possible.

[You probably missed that Texas twang.
not]'fraid I only just got back myself. Only thing that seems to have changed 'round these parts is how they're treatin' us Newcomers. Ain't sure there's much we can do about that, though.

You mean to say that you left, as well?
Hmph. Do you expect me to say the same in return, Ms. Fey?
Oh I wouldn't dream of presuming to know what to expect from you.

I suppose that I'll have to talk to him eventually, seeing as he might actually be the only person who knows anything about anything in this place. [ It's just a bit frustrating that it's come to this, still. ]
Anyway, what would you consider most pertinent? [ And deciding that it's probably not the best idea to leave such discretion to a defense attorney, Franziska immediately amends: ] Anything that's greatly influenced the Newcomer community, I mean. I did notice upon my return that there's been a marked increase in obvious hostility.

What's the last major event you remember?

It got really bad when everyone was sent to the past for a while. They thought we were gone...when I came back, my home and work were destroyed. They weren't happy to see us back. It's been pretty dicey for a long time now.

Did they destroy everything associated with the newcomer community?
no subject
[Yep, that was some definite bitterness. Though he catches himself at it, and quickly changes the subject.]
Uh! There's been a lot of activity around the core, but not much information.
...And there's one more thing. You should be careful if you go out alone. They...there were some abductions before. A-and people got...hurt. Just so you know.

That's hardly anything that I'm not used to. [ A beat, and oddly enough she finds herself not wanting him to worry about her, so she adds: ] I'll be careful. [ And even that sounds too honest, so she forces her lips into a smirk and adds with her practised confidence: ] I always am.
[ She sighs, then, trying to think of the best way to phrase the next part. It's bizarre; some days she still wonders how she came to even consider other people's feelings. She and Yosuke Hanamura... they had been friends once. ]
Although I'm sorry to hear of your losses, it's good that not the entire community was effected in the same way. That would, frankly, have been an absolute disaster.

[He sighs, and rubs at his face. It still feels unfair, but it definitely could have been worse.]
The important thing to know is that things are tense, and we should all be watching each other's backs.

Disgusting.

[He'll just dust off his hands]
I believe that is point Deadpool.
[Video] Please pretend this was on time
[Video] You are never late. ♥
Why, thank you. Is time travel within the city itself something we must all contend with now?
[Video] Too bad this doesn't apply to the workplace ^_~
[Video] Indeed, they never did seem to grasp the concept of 'better late than never'!
But the Darkness itself existed prior to that?
[Video] XD Silly them. Expecting people to show up on time when they're being paid
[In a weird, time-paradox sort of way.]
Because the two events were associated. I see. Did anything else of note happen during that time?
