[There's the sound of teeth chattering and a girl shivering]
Has it always been so cold here? What has happened?

Eponine, are you still close to the house? You had best return and I will lend you
[Ella's]winter clothes. If power is out all over, it may take a while to find an open shop.

Re: [action]
MADAME HATTIE?
[action]
Eponine for CRYING OUT LOUD!!
[She gets up from the couch and walks over- She doesn't know where Dorian is at the moment, but she's sure whatever he's doing, he's looking hawt. When she actually sees Eponine, her expression softens. After a moment she gestures to the fireplace.]
... Go and sit over there for a while, I'll get your things.
Re: [action]
[She scuttles over to the fire without delay, huddling up next to it. When Hattie comes back, she begins chattering again]
People say that the core has taken the power, and our powers too. Madame, you cannot make yourself stone. And me... I guess it really was to be warm. Do you think we will get them back?
Such lovely clothes...
[action]
Mind, they're still quite nice to look at! But very drab for Hattie's tastes.]
I don't often use it anyway, so I hadn't noticed. Here, change into the clothes, and I'll close the doors to make sure Dorian does not come in.
[She does just that, back turned away.]
I am certain we will, the real question is 'when' I think. Most absurd crisis.. es.. tend to be temporary in my experience.
Re: [action]
[She struggles into Ella's clothes, finding that they fit reasonably well. As if Eponine is concerned about the colour when she's freezing! Practicality will always come first.]
I've never had one of these, you know. And in my favourite colour.
[She strokes the jumper]
Do you really not mind me wearing these?
[action]
[Hattie will need to keep that in mind. For realsies this time. Once Eponine is in the clothes, Hattie helps get the coat on, places the earmuffs about her neck, then hands over the mittens. She almost laughs to the question, but instead smiles like an angel.]
Of course I don't, Eponine. I couldn't very well just let you freeze, you know. Now, we need to talk a moment about your.. Unique form of texting.
Re: [action]
[She feels pretty special, getting all dressed up, and she's sure she looks properly dressed now, just like anybody else in winter. She's never had mittens or earmuffs before, and she's dying to peer in the mirror to see what she looks like. But her smile drops when Hattie mentions texting]
What was wrong with it?
[action]
[After the collar is straightened, she backs off to look her up and down. Yes, that will do, then she gestures to the foyer.]
The mirror is out there, take a look. And it needs improvement. Your writing is good, but your texting is not- I believe you need to familiarize yourself with the typewriting alphabet.
Re: [action]
This is why, Madame, I use the video or a phone. It is easier for me than texting.
[action]
'My Lady' [she corrects with some annoyance.] Of course, whatever was I thinking?
[She'll lecture Eponine about it later. Best to let her have her fun for now.]
Re: [action]
[She's barely listening as she twirls this way and that, pouting and posing and fixing her hair and pulling at her clothes and trying on the ear muffs. If she squints, she thinks she almost looks pretty. She's not coming back...]
[action]
If I recall, you're supposed to be finding an open shop, aren't you?
[She claps her hands twice.]
Go on, then! Time is money!
Re: [action]
fine, madame. I will be back soon!
[And with that, she slams out, eager to show off her lovely new clothes]
