[ While Hattie is "safely" away for the evening with a certain Mr. Nightray, Ella is enjoying the night off! And as she has been relatively quiet, for reasons of her own, she was bringing to the network a question.

Of course she is curled up on her bed looking a bit worn out from being sick (not cold-sick, oh-god-what-are-you-making-me-eat sick). Kyra was curled up on the bed next to Ella, dozing like a good wolfdogpup. ]

We don't precisely have this kind of holiday back in Frell, or at least it isn't called "Valentine's Day". But I get the idea of it, for the most part. I'm more curious about people's interpretation of "love" though. I mean, there are a lot of different types - the one I'm referring to leans more to ... well, creepy, actually.

Say you have a girl who likes a guy - or the reverse. Maybe it's a guy who likes a girl. Either way, someone likes someone. Only it's not mutual. What would you consider of the person that forces their love on you - like breaking into your apartment to fix you food, climbing into your bed while you're asleep, stalking your apartment or home to watch you turn the lights on and off.

Basic creeper behavior, in my opinion. But some people think that if it's a "powerful love" then it's okay, even if - in one case, the guy doesn't want anything to do with girl "in love" with them. So what do you think? Is that kind of behavior validated because of love, or would you call them out on being creepy and unwanted?

[ A pause, and she grins, tiredly. ]

And before certain people jump to conclusions, no, it's not a hypothetical friend of a friend of a friend nonsense. It's related to a conversation I had with my stepsister and Flonne a few weeks ago.

Oh and Byakuya, I'm sorry I wasn't in today - I hope Hattie didn't make a mess of things.

I feel like I should be asking you that - you look awful. With all due respect, I mean.

It's just a little disagreement I'm having with my stomach. I'll be fine tomorrow, I think.

My students are rather exuberant about celebrating this holiday.

[He turns the NV to show the pile of things left to be tossed out. Including the neon pink massive bear with "I Love You Beary Much" on the heart and the pile of candies. They'll be going out later.

And that's the only reason he's tired, really. It has nothing to do with missing his wife! NOPE!]

I received it. It was... lost in the other things.

[Not a lie. He's not taking it home to Hitsu. So, it's in the pile. Somewhere.]

How are you going to get all of that out of the office? [ Also that bear is so fluffy. :( ]

For that matter how did they get it INTO the office?

[If you want the bear, you should speak up because he's getting rid of all of it.]

My office is rarely locked. The students too advantage of that. I'm sure the cleaners can dispose of it.

[ Yeah because that conversation will end so well when Hattie asks her where she got the bear. And that's assuming she didn't steal it like she took everything else. ]

Maybe you should consider locking your office so this sort of things doesn't happen again then.

I keep nothing of import in here and had thought the students rather more mature.

Aren't these the same students that have been playing pranks on the NVs and the rest of the city for dares?

Indeed. However, the entire city cannot fail them.

No, but clearly the threat of failing a course isn't enough to dissuade them from ... well...fawning.

Perhaps a demonstration?

[Hitsu would remind him that killing the mortals isn't a good idea. Never mind it's actually against Soul Society policy. However, Byakuya thinks he's funny.]

Demonstration? I don't think you can fail a student just because they gave you gifts.

I am sure I can find a great many other reasons to fail them.

[Like their abysmal Japanese, or their worse poetry...]

Well, if you're going to fail them, at least let it be for legitimate reasons, and not because you're annoyed by their treatment of the holiday.

I'm pretty sure they're not doing it to annoy you anyway. I mean, they are trying to be nice - even if they are ridiculously stubborn, or have selective hearing like Hattie.

[He looks vaguely amused. Her defense of the students reminds him of a few people back home.]

You believe I would be petty enough to fail them for being irritating?

[ She chuckles. ]

You can't deny the temptation isn't there.
