032 // Video, backdated to earlier in the day
[Kurt is at the Community Center, looking well-dressed and businesslike. He has placed his NV in front of him and speaks cordially into it.]
I'm afraid this is a tad belated, but I'd still like to extend my greetings to any and all new arrivals in the Port. I'm Kurt Hummel, assistant director of your Newcomer Community Center, and I'd like to--
[He's cut off by noise and laughter. A group of teenagers can be seen at the window, messing around with the Darkness proofing and attempting to vandalize the Center. Kurt has an unreadable expression as he pulls away and calmly steps outside.
Once he's out there, a gunshot can he heard. He's fired one into the sky.]
GET OUT! YOUR MOTHERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOU! GO HOME AND DON'T LET ME CATCH YOU HERE AGAIN, YOU LITTLE--
[They scatter, and he calmly re-holsters his pistol and walks back over to the camera. He straightens his clothes and sits back down.]
As I was saying, welcome. If you have any questions about life in the Port or our status as Newcomers in general, don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you!

It's not that he's vain-- not really. It's more a matter of familial pride. And although he ignores or outright resents the attention he gets from women, it's not because of the focus on his body. He knows he's sexy--his mother's side of the clan was known for its exceptional beauty. It's just another way in which he's above the crowd.
The problem is that time spent on fashion is time that could be spent on training or covering ground. The time it takes to embroider the crest on the backs of his shirts is different; that's time spent honoring his ancestry and tradition. But he doesn't have any ground to cover here, and he's hammered down a place to train, and he might have a sparring partner if Ino's willing.
And if she's not, there's always the monsters.]
The collar and the crest stay.

You have a problem with my clan's traditional clothing?

[It looks ancient.]

Well, I don't see the harm in updating it a bit! Maybe a slightly smaller, more demure collar. With the fan emblazoned on the front side? And in a color that doesn't make you look so washed out.

[Bluntly.]
The color can change.

[It reminds him too much of the clothes he wore back in Konoha. His frown is deep.]
I like dark colors.

Anyway, as I've clearly proven to be of little assistance to you, good luck with your pursuits in...er, fashion. If you can call it that.
