Guys, I got a serious question. Well, actually just sort of an info request or something. I know that whole 'Newcomer Hunting' thing is kinda big and the whole idea of it just kinda freaks me out so I've been dodging most cuz it's like something out of some book or a movie but.
Well, uh.
I wanna know more about it.
Especially with the deaths of the guys with AGI, it kinda makes a dude like me scared considering I'm with 'em. I don't usually walk around outside after sirens or anything like that since I've got the whole, um. Corridor of darkness thing, but... Y'know. Danger lurks 'round every corner here so you can't be too sure.

[action]
Oi, you big baby, if you're really that worried about it we can carpool to work. [Or whatever you'd call taking a corridor at the same time...]
[action]
Ow--Can you blame me for being scared? I know I'm in on this of my own violation but that doesn't mean I wanna end up dead in the gutters from SERO or whoever it is goin' around killing guys who're with AGI!
[action]
The word is 'volition', Demyx--sheesh, don't tell me I need to give you a language refresher course. [And then he'll flop down on the other end of the couch, putting his feet up on the table.] But no, I guess I can't blame you, really. It's... kind of a scary situation. [He blows out a sigh and then gives him a sidelong look.] Did you know the guy? The one who got killed? I'd heard his name once or twice but I don't think I ever actually saw him.
[action]
[action]
[A swig of his soda and Axel shifts a bit where he's sitting.]
I find myself wondering what he did, you know? If he wasn't a particularly remarkable guy, why'd they target him? [He makes an unsettled sort of noise and taps his fingers against the soda can.] All this not knowing what the bad guys are really after or what sorts of credentials they look for in a victim... You're right: it is a little scary.
[action]
Well, I think the news said he was some sort of bodyguard. Maybe they're after whoever he's guarding or they figured he'd be a problem so they just... [He drags a finger across his throat, makes a strangled sound and sticks his tongue out.] Offed him. The bit with the girl he was with kinda makes me worried too, I mean... What if that chick really did blow him up? People here have a ton of weird powers.
[action]
[He puts that hand on his chin then.]
Wonder if I can find out who he was guarding; might be worth a look.
[action]
[He shrugs a shoulder and stretches out on the couch, head rolling back to stare at the ceiling. AGI was big on the entertainment side, so there was bound to be a lot of names. The two who were killed obviously had ties to it, but to what extent? How many pies did they have their fingers in?]
What about Delacroix's neighbour? Maybe she'd know something. That hooker he had is probably gonna have her hands full with the cops so it might be better to leave her be for a little bit.
[action]
[He eyes Demyx as the younger man sprawls out over most of the remaining space on the sofa, but seems unperturbed. Drumming his fingers against the soda can, Axel mulls over Demyx's words.]
The neighbor might not be a bad idea, but I don't think I want it to get out that I'm poking around. This is police business, right? I'm not looking to get labeled a meddler (any more than I already am), and I sure don't want people to think I'm shooting for vigilante.
[Frankly Axel couldn't really care less about the guys who died, other than the fact that they're affiliated with the same company both he and Demyx are. If someone's gunning for AGI--which he honestly wouldn't really blame anyone--he wants to make sure both he and Demyx are well out of the line of fire.]
[action]
[He snorts at the meddler comment and gives Axel That Look. The one that means 'Nothing Good Is Happening In My Head And They Are Terrible Ideas.']
Axel Axel Axel... We're part of the Organization! Or former, I dunno what it is anymore. Meddling is what we were best at.
[action]
[Oh, he knows that look, and frankly Axel has never managed to determine whether he likes that look or if it just scares the crap out of him. For now he will settle for a definite U N S U R E and reaches out to poke Demyx (gently) between the eyes.]
Right, we're professional meddlers, but the trick is to be stealthy about it. That's all I meant. [He taps that spot between Demyxtonshire's eyes twice, then lifts his hand back to his own face to tug at his chin in thought.] It's really not a bad idea, talking to that neighbor lady... but we'd have to be discreet about it. [He grins fiendishly down at him.] Anything stupid but awesome coming to mind?
[action]
[But stupidly-awesome ideas, HMM.]
Maybe we could act as private investigators?
[action]
[And he doesn't want any catching on. So far he's been able to keep his investigations under the radar, but he hasn't found anything yet either. Maybe it's time to kick it up a notch
BAM.[Quirking his mouth, he makes a 'hmm' sound.]
That's a good start, but I think we should probably keep things off any semblance of official record, you know? If she spills that a couple of PI's interviewed her, especially if she describes us? We'll be picked out of a lineup in no time--we're both pretty distinctive, after all. I'm not saying we should get haircuts and dye jobs or anything, but... if we're gonna start questioning folks we're gonna have to keep it on the down-low.
[They're both adept at remaining out of sight when they want to--yes, even Demyx--but tailing someone and finding a discreet way to interrogate someone... those are two completely different beasts.]
[action]
[Give him a minute to think up a better idea. Police-esque things were out and it'd probably seem suspicious if they just went up and asked without a backstory of some sort...
Wait!]
Ah! I got it! Okay, you know how some people write tribute songs? We could ask her for more information to put into the song and stuff! That'd work, right?
[action]
Now there's a stupid-but-awesome idea if I ever heard one. That actually just might work! [He rubs his chin then.] Something tells me we're not gonna be able to get close to her or the wreckage anytime in the immediate future, but... it might be worth a go next week or so.
[He holds out one fist then.]
You in?
[Voice]
did you have anything to do with turning people over to the hunters?

[Voice]
that answer your questions?
Re: [Voice]
What makes 'em pick out the people they catch?

[His jerb, Joe. His jerb.
And it's pretty hard to quit the Organization no matter where it is.]

Re: [voice]
I walked out on AGI last year, and nothing really happened to me, except they locked me out of the corporate DJ music library. Which was lousy.
