[Snow is sitting outside, carefully weaving straw together to form a doll. It's something she's done so many times to pass the long hours. When she's finished she says a quiet prayer]

God, watch over us as we face whatever comes. Give me strength to endure the dark days. Guide me to my purpose. There must be some reason why I am here.

[she closes her eyes, not really noticing if anyone is watching her]

Yes, I am. There are people dear to me that I long to see.

Ah, I see. I'm sorry that your friends aren't here with you. [He shifts from foot to foot, losing his carefree stance.]

I would be glad of it.

[He takes a seat beside her.] I'm Ventus, by the way. But everyone calls me Ven.

A pleasure to meet you, Ventus. My name is Snow White, but people take to calling me Snow.

You know, it's kind of weird. I met a girl named Snow White just a little while before I came here... she even looked a bit like you.

I have heard it's a common name.

Well, either way, it's a really pretty name.

How long have you been in here in Siren's Port?

It feels like years, but in truth it's only been a month or two.

This place can be hard to get used to at first, especially if you don't have anyone from home to help you adjust.

I've been here over a year and a half, myself.

Are you the only one from your home?

No, actually. I have friends here.... but they've come and gone several times.

Several times? Is that usual?

I don't actually know. But I don't think I've heard of too many other people who've come here and gone home more than twice.

Everything here is a little weird, but you get used to it.

Sure, as long as you try! Almost all of the Newcomers try to stick together in some way, so we help each other out when things look tough.

Most people are pretty friendly once you get to know them.
