For those of you who knew my nephew Zuko, he disappeared this morning. It was as if he vanished, not a trace of him anywhere.

[He had made an effort of looking]

I think that it will probably be for the best, he has much work to do back home.

[It is a bittersweet parting. He was glad to have family here, but he would rather Zuko be off fufilling his destiny]

Then what's the point to everything that people do here?

While, for those who do come in later. There is a need for an apparatus to protect and help inform new arrivals. There is a lot to get used to here. Although it is possible to leave at any point, actions are like ripples in a pond. Once the person who throws the stone is gone, the consequences still spread.

Hm. I suppose that makes sense. It's just all so strange, though, that it would happen so abitrarily. Have they really found no pattern to the comings and goings of newcomers in this place?

From what I have seen, if you stay for a year, you are less likely to leave. Those within their first year of coming are the most frequently returned to their home. There are no definites that I have seen.

Do you think that this Core which has supposedly brought us here... do you think that it designed to serve some sort of specific purpose?

I like to believe it brings Newcomers here to attempt to fix it and bring about positive change. It is only a theory though.

Of course. However, it is nicer to have hope there is some purpose here, compared to the alternative.

Yes I think so. Regardless it hasn't been disproven.

How long must this Core keep bringing in people like that before it will bring in those that will actually make a positive difference, then?!

Do not be too judgemental. You do not know the circumstances which drove them to do so. Everyone has a breaking point.

That is a very black and white view. Let me ask you this, if the government is corrupt and unequal is the law being upheld?

Of course not! [She's getting angry again; she takes a breath.] I've heard about the problems of the court systems here, but they can be fixed!

I am certain they can be, it is a long path.

I am not justifying what happened, but look deeper into the reasons why the event happened. Look at things in a wider scope. If you believe in the law, take into consideration everything involved.

You honestly think that just because we're a minority group, it gives people an excuse like that? That's all it is - an excuse. Unacceptable!

Did I say that? I don't believe I did. All I am suggesting is that you open your horizons, and look at things in a wider view.

What sort of things? It all looks very clear to me, honestly.

Does it now? Find out more about the people and beings, learn who they are. You should know a person before condemning them.

I'll learn all that I need to know about them when I meet them in court!
