[The video clicks on. As usual, Eric's expression is sour. He looks like he's slept badly, and has been for a while.]

I won't deny I've been complaining. Why would I?

[He runs his hand over his hair, an exasperated gesture.]

You'd have to be insane to say I don't have a reason to. First, I find myself here. Then, I move in with my coworkers. Which, by the way, listening to people have sex isn't in the least bit erotic. It's merely annoying, especially when you're trying to sleep on a couch.

We haven't had enough clients or made enough money for me to get my own place. So, I'm a greeter now. So, I get to wander around an empty baseball field like an idiot. We haven't had anyone new since the last wave.

Now, the apartments, the main reason I took this damn job, still aren't rebuilt. So, now I get to scope out the field and STILL put up with my coworkers.

I say this with full knowledge that nobody gives a crap, by the way. I just thought maybe saying would help.

It doesn't.

[Clicks off.]

[Eric is aware of him, but they haven't actually met. So, he doesn't recognize right away.]

And yes, given my situation I think I'm entitled to feel angry or upset. And I'm not dealing with it in a particularly unusual way.

I said nothing about you not being entitled to those feelings; they're not unreasonable for that situation. And just because the method is common, doesn't necessarily mean it makes sense. [Because people are morons. You know that, Eric.]

[He smirks.] Some of us have full access without it.

I didn't say it made sense. A lot of things are true that don't make sense. And well, a lot of things don't make sense and aren't true, but we do them anyway.

Though, given it some thought... you could always come crash at my pad? I'm sure my roomie wouldn't mind all that much, and it sure would be swell 'avin another wingman around for when I bring the dames back.

Ronald... uh... yeah maybe. It's only until the towers are repaired anyway. Who's your roommate?

[At the phrase 'Last Few Moments' Eric winces hard.]

We've had this conversation before too. I corrupt and degrade my own soul for him, and yet I am selfish. I'd laugh if the joke weren't so perverse.

It's really not a joke. I hope while you're here, you can learn what to do. But if not, then it's going to be very hard for you in the future.

Um...I'm sorry to hear that. If...if you need a place to stay for a while...that's quiet. Um...I have room in my place. It's small...inside the Felton theatre. But it is quiet at night and you...won't have to worry about those noises.

In a theater? How Darkness proof is that?

[He's still slightly confused by a talking cat.]

Really well actually! It's in the underground mall so it's pretty safe.

I've actually got another offer. But, if it doesn't work out, I'll remember yours. Really, thank you.
