[Kurt's soft, high-pitched voice pipes up, breathy and energetic as usual, and he sounds like he always does. The only difference between this post and his usual ones, really, is the fact that it's not a video-- But that could be for all sorts of reasons, right? Right.]

It was quite startling, to have to fix our Darkness-proofing this morning! It's lucky I wake up so early, really, or I might have missed it. [A small laugh.] I wouldn't eat any of those Skittles, though, as tempting as they may be.

[Avoiding the issue, avoiding the issue...] Anyway, I-- I apologize for not answering calls over the weekend. I've been very busy. It's never my intention to worry anyone, so I apologize.

Especially you, Ms. Vesper-- I'm terribly sorry. Can I take a rain check on that coffee?

[She tries to sound at least a little cheerier. Maybe it'll help at least a little, since there doesn't seem to be anything else she can do.]

Yeah, I can believe that. I can come to your apartment after morning sirens, is that okay?

[She's still not sure he isn't lying, of course, but if there's a chance he really does need company, she can't just leave him.]

[He isn't lying; he genuinely wants to see her, wants to keep things going normally.]

I'd love that. We can get you a new dress too, how's that sound? Something cute for summer.

[Then, the next morning, she's knocking on his door with a smile on her face.]

[Kurt appears to greet her, dressed up in multiple layers and looking thin and pale. He smiles at her, though.]

Hello there. Shall we?

[motioned]

[Upon seeing him, her smile falls for a moment, but she replaces it instantly as soon as she's aware of the change in expression.]

Yeah, definitely! I'm ready if you are. [She turns from the door, waiting for him to walk beside her.]

[They set out. The Skittles aren't around anymore, which sort of sucks, but it's still nice out. A bit too warm for long sleeves, probably, but Kurt will probably never wear short sleeves again.]

To the Underground Mall? Or did you want to stop anywhere else first?

[motioned]

[She smiles with a nod, tilting her head slightly.]

The Underground Mall is fine, unless you wanted to stop somewhere first! We can go anywhere you want to, I don't mind.

To the mall, then. [A soft smile, and he leads the way. It isn't too crowded there, thankfully; that's why he likes doing his shopping during the day. The smile lingers on his lips as they walk. This is nice. Normal.]
