It's been a long time since I have had the chance to write up one of our cases and I might be a little rusty, but here it is: The Guilt Complex!

Hopefully it has everything the press neglected to mention when the story made the headlines. And it could be a distraction from this "daylight darkness" stuff that has been going on lately too. Blackheath has been all skittery when we go for a walk... and after reading about that cat, I don't really blame him. I can only hope those kids have learnt their lesson too.

If it's not one thing it's another. You'd think after that we'd get some down time around here.

I've been here for almost a year now. Things never really quieten down.

First, just in case I just failed to take notice, folk around here don't make a habit of turning into monsters at night, right? I mean healthy, living people.

Not... that I'm aware of? I've heard that some animals here tend to have some.. uhhm, unique qualities at night, but not anything I've seen. Just through word of mouth.

Okay well I have a guy passed out on my couch that says otherwise. And not bite the hand that feeds me, but from the shit i've seen, I'm pretty sure SERO has it's finger in this particular pie.

Sorry... what? You've got someone who's transforming into one of those things at night sleeping on your couch?

Well I wasn't going to just leave him on my lawn.

Right... okay, I did hear you correctly then. [ he clears his throat ] So you think SERO has been poking around with this guy and now he's turning into a monster?

I can't be sure, but I do know a few things. One, according to research, SERO's been damn interested in these darkness critters lately. And two, this guy was on their list of volunteers for recent drug research and has been missing for well over a month.

... Jesus, that doesn't sound like a good combination. Have you asked him what happened?

He's been out since this morning, but I'll let you know...unless he goes all Quasimodo on me again.
