[Rachel looks a little pale, but her expression is level and gaze clear. She's sick, but not terribly so. She's not disheveled, but her breath is occasionally labored, as if she's fighting back a deep cough.]

I am obviously not as sick as many others in the city. I'm offering my services to those who might need my help. [She pauses, caught as if she wishes to say more, but looks away from the NV and coughs a few times.] Excuse me. Obviously, there is no worry of infecting me.

[Axel's not looking so bad as he was a few days ago, but the dark circles under his eyes betray that he's been having trouble sleeping, and the raspiness of his voice hasn't improved much. His grin is fairly genuine, though.] Ah, finally caught up with you, eh? From what I hear there's not a lot that can be done anyway, so I don't recommend overstraining yourself.

Apparently it did. [She leans her chin on her hand; she's never felt weary to this point before. It's nothing she can't handle, but her own voice is quiet and hoarse.] I will not strain myself. I am more functional than many others.

[Axel actually looks startled for a moment; he really wasn't expecting her to be quite so blunt as that.]

Ah-- Oh. Uhm... wow, that's... [He's actually lost for words for a moment. He's not unfamiliar with the concept, really--one of his closest friends is a replica puppet with implanted memories, after all--but he never really considered the idea that that sort of thing might be present in other places too.]

So you're like a clone? [There's nothing judgmental or disapproving in his voice, he's just genuinely curious.]

[And she takes no offense. In fact, she looks thoughtful before answering. She'd rather explain things right the first time than have someone misunderstand what she is trying to say.]

Not as such. There is no original template. [Well, there could be. She's not entirely sure, come to think of it.] It's close enough, though, I suppose. I came into being to serve one purpose.

I see. And it's a purpose you can get behind? 'Cuz, I mean... well there seems to be a lot less stringent supervision of these sorts of things here than back home. At least so far as I can tell.

... Not that helping people is a bad thing. Just sayin', you can do stuff because you want to around here, not just because you have to.

If you're sick, you should go to the hospital, or one of the quarantine areas. You're just going to spread it around like this. And please, come in to the clinic and pick up a mask. At the very least you should be wearing one!

That's not... exactly true? You can compound on this disease, and that will make it worse for people. It has a chance of mutating with that. Plus, you're spreading it not only to people, but to whatever building you're in as well.

You're...sick. Whatever you touch keeps the germs in place, and transfers them to other people. Germs can live on surfaces for a very long time.

Can they? [It's thoughtful, almost rhetorical.] I do not travel as most do. I doubt I'd leave germs in places they weren't already. [Pause] But I do not know sickness as well as some do.

Yes, they can. We're in a medical emergency, and any little thing could do more damage. So please, come into the hospital if you're feeling sick.
