[Pearl Fey’s emotions don’t always show easily, but when they do, they’re usually related to ships Maya Fey. And while there are exceptions, today’s not one of them. The sullen, sad look that crosses her face today is definitely caused by circumstances involving her favorite cousin - as well as their roommate, Mr. Armando.
Anyway, she’s sitting on a bench in what looks like a hospital corridor. That’s already bad news, isn’t it? She frowns very deeply (pretzels drooping) and shakes her head sadly at the camera.]
Mystic Maya and Mr. Armando became very sick yesterday. We got them to the doctors safely, but...
[After a moment’s pause, she shakes her head fiercely from side to side!] I’m going to do my best to help the doctors make sure they’re comfortable! I’m still very -- [sneeze!] -- I’m still mostly healthy, and I’m going to stay by their side until they get better.
… Um, does anybody know about Mr. Armando’s pet kitty? and Mystic Maya’s bird! Vladimir and Artemis need to be fed, but I can’t go between the apartment and the hospital by myself. The plants need to be watered, too! [Someone please help a fretting girl out.]
[And then, drooping again, before she shuts off the video.] Poor Mystic Maya... poor Mr. Armando. I should have been more alert...
[Later, post-video, in Maya and Godot's room.]
[After making that announcement so those who know Mr. Armando and Maya will be in the know, Pearl’s going to be in their room watching over them worriedly. She tugs on blankets and sniffles, then perches herself on a chair and watches them with a frown
Please get better soon 8CCCC]

Oh. Pretty goddamn awful.
[Then he chuckles, darkly.]

Daedalus was in to see you briefly. He'll be back in a little while, I promise. But in the meantime, what can I get you?
no subject
[He groans as he sighs, sightless eyes looking in her direction before he closes them again.]
How long was I out?
no subject
[She watches him closely, rising so she can put her other hand on his forehead to check his temperature.]
I was...concerned that you'd be out for a longer period of time.
no subject
You were concerned?
[His smile fades as she touches him-- he's still burning up, clammy and ill-feeling.]
Just... threw up my pills in the morning and at lunch. That's a recipe for seizuretown.
no subject
Yes, I was concerned. You weren't waking up. And with everyone seemingly coming down with some sort of illness...
[Well, how was she supposed to feel?]
no subject
[He grips her hand as hard as he can, which isn't very.]
This is a hell of a sickness if it put me in here... though I guess that's more of a complication.
no subject
I would be too, in your position.
[Re-l sits back down, watching him.]
Daedalus says more and more people are going to the doctor complaining, going to pharmacies, or being admitted to the hospital. You're not the first.
no subject
[He keeps his grip on her hand even as she moves, taking a deep breath.]
Well... good to know I'm not just one of the lucky ones, for once.
no subject
I'd rather you be lucky and at home, not sick. But Daedalus says they're investigating the cause, so I'm sure they'll figure out something in the next day or so.
no subject
[He pauses for a cough, tightening his hold on her hand as he does. When he's finished, he lays back with a groan.]
Any coffee in the area that you can see?
no subject
I can go ask someone to put a pot on. I can't guarantee it'll be anything particularly good, but...
no subject
Ha...! I've been throwing up all day and I still don't care.
no subject
All right. Give me a minute and let me see what I can do.
[She stands and reluctantly looses her grip on his hand.]
no subject
[He lets his hand slip from hers, resting on his chest as she moves away.]
Worst case scenario, just bring me the grounds. I can suck on them.
no subject
[She's sad he can't see her smile as she goes, but she hopes her tone will get that across. She's gone for maybe five minutes, asking two nurses each to put on pots of coffee. Hopefully, one of them will follow through. She texts Daedalus on her way back to Diego's room.
Instead of going to his side first, she goes to the sink and gets some paper towels to soak in cold water. She wrings them out and brings them back to him.]
I've got a few people working on it. If one doesn't do it, another will. And if they both manage to make a pot each, then all the more for you. And I brought some cool cloths for you.
no subject
[He grins back at her, more than likely catching her tone.
When she returns, he's leaning back in the bed looking uncomfortable, moving his arm here and there. He sighs with relief to hear about the cool cloths.]
Thanks. You're the best.
no subject
[She smiles with the weak joke, carefully putting one of the cloths on the side of his neck. The other goes onto his forehead and she makes sure it's not going to drip onto his shirt.]
Let me know if you need anything else, all right? I'll stay with you until Daedalus comes at least.
[If not longer.]

One of these days we'll get some time together outside of the damned hospital.
I hate it here. This is what hell looks and smells like.
