[Rachel manages to startle herself while poking around at the appliances in her small, starter apartment. With her NV in one hand as she does, it comes as no surprise that she turns it on as she backs away from an exploding toaster.

Obviously, she shouldn't be allowed near a kitchen. It's probably a good thing she doesn't need to eat. There's a moment of her just looking at the counter top -- then at the NV and her head tilts a bit to the side.

It probably shouldn't be on.] Oh. [She fumbles with it, trying to turn off the feed and finally, fed up, tries to turn it off via angel mojo. She only succeeds in blowing up a lightbulb. She looks very put-upon, very frustrated, hiding a thread of fear underneath it. She is not ready to let other know she's here. That choice has been taken from her, because of her own carelessness.

... She still can't find the right button to push.]

The Not Allowed in the Kitchen Award, obviously. I've set off the smoke detector once or twice, but I'm pretty sure I never actually blew anything up.

Obviously [and she says it in the same tone he'd said the word] you are not trying hard enough.

[There's a beat of silence, and then he bursts out laughing. So she does have a sense of humor!]

Obviously. Maybe we should actually hold a competition--I'll give you a run for your money.

I believe that I will "take your word for it." [Something in the way she says it just suggests the quotes.]

[Grin~] Well, if you change your mind, let me know.

Are you new in town? Don't think I've seen you around the network before.

I have been here for two days. [A frown.] I am Rachel.

You don't beat around the bush, do you, Rachel? That's cool; I can always appreciate someone who just deals with the facts. Nice to meet you, welcome to Canada, I'm Axel; got it memorized?

I do not think I am capable of forgetting a name. [Angelic brains are awesome that way, you know.]

Cursed with a photographic memory? I feel your pain. In a manner of speaking, anyway.

[Interesting is one word for it.] My home is Heaven.

... Wait, you mean like... [He points straight up.] ?

[She raises a brow at the gesture and then cants her gaze upward.] Perhaps it's better to think of it as sideways. [And she points sideways.] A sort of... parallel dimension of being.

[Pause, and then she points up, too.] Or if this is easier, then yes. Heaven. I am an angel.

[Blink blink, then a low whistle.]

An angel, huh? Really? ... Well, I'll be damned.

--Er. Uh, no offense, or anything.

[Is that sort of thing offensive to an angel? Pixies, he's dealt with. Wizards, he's dealt with. Monsters, Heartless, Darkness... all that sort of stuff he's dealt with. Angels, notsomuch.]

[She blinks. Take offense? If he's damned, then he's damned and there's nothing she can do.] Yes. Really. Are you one who will ask for proof? [There's a tired, frustrated note in her voice; she doesn't want to prove what she is without ample reason.]

[He shakes his head.] No, no, I'll ah... [Another grin~] "take your word for it." I've met my share of unusual folks--everybody's got a story, and I prefer to let them tell it on their own time. I don't need credentials or anything: if you say you're an angel, I believe it.

[After all, you can't tell a Nobody by looking. Who's he to say she's not an angel?]

So I guess the wings and halo gig is a bust, huh? That'd be pretty conspicuous, anyway...

[She inclined her head, appreciative of the answer. Then, the look she gave him was almost amused.]
