[When Frau's voice flickers on it's filled with rage, pure and simple. Mixed into that is a hidden sadness that nearly chokes him. In the background is the sound of a pitiful little whining from Mimsy.]

God dammit, brat! You swore to me that you would take care of yourself!

[There's a growl from Frau and a pause, where Mimsy's whimpering is more obvious.]

Don't you see what you did to her? Huh?

[And to him, but he would never say that. He can deal with loss. He's dealt with it before and he'll deal with it again. It's no big deal to him. Which is total bullshit, but he'll stand by that anyway.]

And YOU!

[It's not overly apparent that Frau's no longer talking about Kevin, but he's not.]

Splendid. Shall we meet at the construction site?

You know where Kevin's warehouse is, yeah?

[His voice flickers a bit on Kevin's name, but he pushes through.]

[The video feed clicks off as Frau heads out of his apartment.]

[as soon as he clicks off, the TARDIS makes her way to the warehouse, taking inventory just to be sure they have most of what they need while she waits for Frau to arrive. the prospect of building something has her in good spirits and she's humming tunelessly to herself as she goes about her rounds]

[Frau arrives soon after, more than excited about the prospect of starting his hawkzile. Or at least whatever version of a hawkzile they would be able to create here. As long as it flew, Frau would be good with it.]

[the ship looks up from her work, tools in hand and a smile on her face] I hope you don't mind I started sorting things. It's always best to have a good idea of what you're working with on these things, don't you agree?

Of course it's me. Who the hell else would it be?

[With Kevin's death he's a little more touchy than usual.]

Yeah, that's fine.

[The parts seem a bit different than what he's used to, but that's not really surprising. He should be able to connect them with the usual parts for a hawkzile easily enough.]

[she isn't bothered at all by his touchiness, shrugging it off] You could have been anyone, I suppose.

Where do you think we should begin? I was considering doing engine work before the frame, but there's no reason we can't do both at once. How do you usually go about the construction process?

Engine would make sense. It'll be the hardest to work on since we'll need a different energy source than what I'm used to.

[Frau scratches at his head, a bit unsettled that maybe he wasn't overly clear about what he knew in regards to building one.]

Usually it was already done, I just added more upgraded parts. Besides, the cor of a real hawkzile is an animal...

[she isn't the best at listening, unfortunately. details sometimes get lost]

Well, we can make do even without an animal, I should think. If nothing else, it'll be more reliable, don't you think? So! I need you to start cutting those strips over there. [waves toward a large pile of thin metal plates] You build the frame. I'll do the engine.

[Frau just glances at the metal for a second before running a hand nervously through his hair. Maybe he had been a bit too confident when he'd shared his skills. He'd never made parts, just changed them out and modified.]

Uh...

[she nonchalantly hands him the blueprints, still keeping most of her attention on the engine]

Here. I've drawn up the designs. It's simple, really. Just follow what I've written.

[Right. Simple. Frau doesn't believe a word of that, but he'd sooner try than say he can't do it.]

[she doesn't write the most concise directions. and it doesn't help some of her notes are in Gallifreyan]

So these machines, they're popular on your world? How do you incorporate an animal? Do you use cybernetics? Biomechanical constructs?

[Frau is stumbling his way through the directions, which he's not very good at following to begin with.]

What? Oh. No, they're just that way already. We just modify the parts when new equipment comes out.

[oh oh oh this is fascinating] So the animals are born with mechanical parts? They aren't so much built as augmented?

Don't think so.

Oh, I want so very much to see a real one for better study. I suppose it's impossible and we'll have to make do with what we have, but having an actual one would be so much better. Though I suppose it would defeat the purpose of our being here if that were the case...

Yup, it would. I'd do just about anything to get my hands on a real hawkzile. Since I can't, I just have to make do with what I have.

Well in that case, let's get to work. I should have this engine worked out in a day or so. You should be flying in a week.

[That actually makes Frau pause.]
