[A rustling sound, like someone shifting around on a bed.]

You know, I make sure to pay really good attention to the calendar and changing the days, and I realized that it's been a whole year and a half since I first got here. It's sort of weird - sometimes it doesn't feel that long at all, but there are times it seems a lot longer. Even though it's hard, I'm glad. I learned a lot of stuff I probably wouldn't have, from some really amazing people. Some of them have gone home, but...

[She pauses, making sure her voice will hold before continuing.]

I know most of them are back where they would want to be. Even if I miss them, being sad just shows that we were close, so I think even that is something to be glad for. I hope everyone wouldn't be too sad for very long if I got sent home again, too.

I guess I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, all my friends and even people I've only talked to once. I don't know if I could have been very happy here at all if I didn't meet all of you, so I feel like owe you a lot.

To sum it up, Astrid told me I went from being a loser to becoming the most popular Viking in Berk. Apparently taming dragons was my calling. That also included persuading her to trust Toothless when she became really suspicious of how good I was getting in dragon training.

And I also became a hero, saving everyone from a giant dragon.
