You know, I make sure to pay really good attention to the calendar and changing the days, and I realized that it's been a whole year and a half since I first got here. It's sort of weird - sometimes it doesn't feel that long at all, but there are times it seems a lot longer. Even though it's hard, I'm glad. I learned a lot of stuff I probably wouldn't have, from some really amazing people. Some of them have gone home, but...

[She pauses, making sure her voice will hold before continuing.]

I know most of them are back where they would want to be. Even if I miss them, being sad just shows that we were close, so I think even that is something to be glad for. I hope everyone wouldn't be too sad for very long if I got sent home again, too.

I guess I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, all my friends and even people I've only talked to once. I don't know if I could have been very happy here at all if I didn't meet all of you, so I feel like owe you a lot.

I think I've probably been here at least twice as long as I've been human. So... It's really hard to believe.

Now that I think about it, I've never once seen you turn into a duck.

They're both you. You're a duck that happens to be a girl sometimes, but that don't make you any less duck or girl. That's how I think of you.

Well, no, I'm always a duck who just looks like a girl. So it's a little different than you're thinking.

I'm just curious! I mean, I haven't really ever heard of an ability like that apart from yours, so it's interesting.

It's sort of an angel thing- all of us can do it. Some aren't even as nice about it as I am.

Oh, you know. Calling you by your name before you're even introduced, throwing your flaws in your face- that sorta thing.

Wait, so you know my flaws too? I mean, I guess you would have anyways because of the whole thing that happened last summer, but before that?

Knew them, yeah. Cared enough to really take note? No. The only people I take any time to judge are massive tools. You're not and you have about as many flaws as the average human-who-happens-to-be-duck, so don't worry, kiddo. You're biggest one is that you're too good.

I don't think there's an average one of those... And there's no such thing as being too good!

There is when you don't think about you enough, kiddo.
