If there were a God who interfered, he would leave evidence, and however trace it might become before Amazon's emergence, it still would have discovered the patterns. And Amazon would tell the other Rix, and they would use it as propaganda against the Emperor, and then everyone would know.

Pre-Imperial myths are generally in mangled where they are not forgotten - the Emperor cannot abide rival gods - but I had a mild interest in folklore, enough to patch together most of the basic stories.
