Someone within this city is going to buy me a drink. Immediately. I prefer scotch, but really, anything will do. I also require a sledgehammer. Crowbars are also acceptable.
Your generosity will be repaid tenfold in both money, good will, and the feathers that I will be tearing out of my favorite down pillow. If you so choose to remain so, anonymous donations can be dropped off at my mailbox at the post office.
Remember: generosity is a virtue, not a sin.

It takes a solid five minutes of careful thought and processing before he speaks, and the demon doesn't sound irritated or angry -- he just sounds dumbfounded.]

He closes it slowly to truly consider that point before he looks irritated and simply sips from his glass.
Agreeing means he is officially on a road that is only going to end in something bad. Disagreeing is lying to someone who knows that he's lying.
The perfect catch 22.]

[Elaine assures him. She already knows. Even without the obvious awkward silence.]
Would you like some truffles?
[Offline]
[Mildly.]

[She offers a plate with them.]
[Offline]
... may I ask you something?
[He isn't polite to anyone, it says something, okay. 8|]
[Offline]
Of course, Crowley.

[It's a completely and utterly random question, but one with some amount of merit.]

There isn't another individual here as far ahead as I am.
I don't relish the idea of someone ruining that.

-- while the situation here is not ideal, the status quo is manageable. But I'm missing something.
[Crowley looks briefly irritated.]
It isn't often that I feel as if I'm missing something.

[She says trying to be placating.]
