[Xellos floats lazily, resting on air, eyes closed, seemingly having a nap. He stretches a moment, and then sits cross-legged in the air]

A question for all of those involved with magic in their respective worlds, how exactly does it work where you are from? Things always seem to work slightly differently in each new place, and of course there is always plenty of room for creative individuals to revolutionize its practice. If you would be so kind, I'd greatly appreciate it.

[He holds his chin, with a curious expression on his face]

For those lacking in magical talents, two simple riddles.

One tooth to bite,
he's the forests foe.
One tooth to fight,
as all Norse know.

What is it?

A man is six feet tall, is a clerk at a butcher shop, and wears size 11 shoes.

Oh. Well I suppose that makes sense then. [But she brightens.] Mister Priest, would you consider putting your talents for sale, then? I'd be interested in hiring an interpreter.

I think so.. But I usually follow my accountant's [See: Ella] suggestions. It's a lot more convenient.

Of course, one should always follow expert advice in a matter. Have you considered doing something to increase your earnings?

[That's curious.. Was this priest about to offer her a job?]

Oh yes, I've been at it for quite some time. [By looking for someone wealthy to marry, see. That'd be a huge increase!] But it's a lot more difficult to get my foot in the door now than it would be back in my time.

Oh, and what talents do you have?

[Hattie falters here. Talents?]

Oh, well.. Riddles certainly aren't one of them! [She gives an embarrassed laugh as she thinks about it.] Well, giving fashion advice and critique. I do love clothes. And I've always enjoyed shopping so I've put quite a bit of effort in catching up.

.. Which wasn't really too difficult, in retrospect, it was adjusting to it that was difficult, really.

I see, you are interested in fashion. Have you tried your hand at sewing or producing clothes?

[Hattie's starting to get suspicious. Did Ella tell him she doesn't work? Still, one of those options does intrigue her.]

Producing clothes? Like, start my own fashion line? I'd love to do that, but no one cares who I am. Something like that is more fruitful once you're famous.

[Its not that hard to figure out, really]

Yes, something to that effect. Well, if you do get famous, I'd be happy to provide some start off funding.

[The seed of motivation. Has been planted.]

.. What? Really? [Her eyes narrow.] Wh- what's the catch?

The usual really, small percentage of profit, and such.
