[ There are no grand and glorious proclamations this day, nor joy nor exultations, though his mood is far from poor. Rather, he is thoughtful, and it reflects in his words and tone. ]

A star falls from heaven.

Can it someday return, restored to its proper place?

Yes, I think so.

[Sometimes Sherlock wonders if Aslan's metaphors are always relevant on purpose. Entirely possible.]

Shooting stars are really just meteorites in the end, aren't they?

[sup, daddylion.]

I think anyone who tries hard enough can achieve it. Entire worlds have returned from the darkness before. If that's possible, I don't see how this wouldn't be.

Yeah yeah yeah. What are you hoping to get out of this?

All that are lost can be found.

To return, that depends. Does it want to return?
no_resignations: (☾ All shall be lost to you!)

Voice;

[personal profile] no_resignations 2012-01-25 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No. No matter how one tries, the past is something that cannot be erased. Unless there is no memory, the star will not be able to shine precisely the same. Whether it is duller or brighter depends upon the star. Some will take the past and brighten their glow, others will shrink from it and be overshadowed by the other stars.

Either way, it is impossible for the star to ever be restored to how it once was.
no_resignations: (☾ Will the intrusions never end?)

Voice;

[personal profile] no_resignations 2012-01-25 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. However, the past will always affect us going forward, whether we would admit it or not.

The stars are navigators, ever steady to guide those in need. They shine their own light. Should they lose their way, there are the lights of others they can follow.

[There is one who the question immediately brings to mind, a star who fell. With six pairs of wings which have added another layer to his now infrequent nightmares.]

Yes.

[Because it has to be yes. There has to be a point, or it's torture. So his answer is shift, sure, something which must be believed.]

A fallen star cannot return to the sky as it is nothing more than a meteoroid passing through a planet's atmosphere.

I suppose it depends on the star.

[Is that a shred of optimism?

Maybe.]

No.

Maybe it shouldn't.

If it were destined to be so.

No. While it may return if it wishes, the fall has changed the star. It's no longer the same as it once was.

Nothing short of resetting the universe can restore the star.
