I would like to file a missing person's report. Should I discover any one of you to be lax in this investigation I will see to it that I issue a formal complaint and we will address your salaries at the next board hearing.

As you're well aware I am Crown Prosecutor, which makes me your superior. I am to supervise your work by decree of the law, the City's judicial department, and by authority of my position.

[His voice is crisp and controlled. Smooth and calm despite the topic in question.]

The person in question is Franziska von Karma. She was last seen Friday, March 16th, leaving from her office on SPU grounds where she was reportedly a member of the faculty as a professor of law. According to witness testimony she has since disappeared. Her Networking Device is likewise offline. As I'm unaware of where she lives details would be…conductive to leading a search.

Consider myself, Prosecutor Manfred von Karma, in charge. All relative details concerning her schedule, documentation, and evidence will be handled and forwarded to me.

Question every person she was acquainted with. Arrest anyone suspicious. I don't care if you feel inconvenienced. She needs to be found!

[There's an angry rise in his voice as he addresses the video, a slight sneer on his features.]

Firm decisive action. That is what is necessary.

Corporal. I require your professional expertise in this matter...Certain effects, should they be found, should be placed into my care immediately.

[He doesn't care about Edgeworth's supposed desensitization. This is his daughter!]

[Absolutely seething.]

To think that she even took stock in such a worthless individual. I'll never know why.

[And now there's just a slightly sour note entering his voice.]

I had several discussions with Ms. von Karma in which she discussed her outright rejection of your attempts to associate with you. May I point to your noted history of harm done to those whom you saw as "defiant" towards you?

[He slams his fist on the desk, no longer pretending to be patient to this utter nonsense!]

[A pause, and then with that same sourness, that same coldness:]

Tell me, Mr. von Karma, are you more or less likely to suspect someone who loses his composure in an interview?

[Taking a breath, livid and flushed yet regaining his composure quickly.]

You think you're making a point? That you're being clever?

You're a fool. A selfish child! This is your sister. Do you care if she was tortured and mutilated beyond recognition? No! Instead you would rather focus on some petty means of getting the last word for no reason other than to serve yourself!

[Finally, his composure breaks; he lashes out with a vicious snarl:]

Don't pretend like you loved her.

Insufferable....Idiot! You're a stupid fool. You would want to think that!

[Good. He sees your true pettiness for what it is!]

[He cuts himself off, barely managing to choke back a snarl of rage.]

Indifferent because I don't want the man most likely to have killed her to oversee the investigation?

[He just calms the more Edgeworth offers this infuriating cant.]

So, is your reasoning so praiseworthy that you do not realize the sheer idiocy of conducting an investigation when you yourself are supposedly the suspect?

[If he had indeed slain her wouldn't she have just come back to incriminate him?]

You really have fallen far from the bench, haven't you? You're slipping. If nothing else, I can see why you downgraded your badge for an attorney's.

What would be my motive in murdering my own flesh and blood? True, we weren't on speaking terms, but only because of her own sheer stupidity. Latent post-teenage rebellion, I suppose.

[And a slight pause, and then there's a different sort of anger - ]

Your statement is both erroneous and foolish, as expected. If anything I would say sibling jealousy motivated you to do something to her, Edgeworth.

Her actions were. I said nothing to the effect of her intellect, but it matters not. I've done more for her than what you've done! Which is nothing!

What conclusions, pray, did I jump to? That you should follow procedure and not run an investigation when it is your duty to recuse yourself? Is that it?
