The 1st Word [Video]
[A young woman appears on the screen, with a serene expression on her face. She offers a small smile. She'd almost look like an ordinary girl in her late teens, if it wasn't for her odd colouring, and the fact that her hair seems to be moving of its own volition.]
Hello.
[When she speaks, it's with a crisp French accent.]
My name is Daemon. Your Greeters were most helpful.
[Whether she believes them or not is another story. Still, the people here are quite unlike those in any system she's encountered previously. Her expression grows more solemn as she moves beyond her introduction.]
All the fighting here concerns me. These struggles between Newcomers and locals, between AGI and SERO...they seem to bring such needless suffering. Only unity can bring peace. I would like to work together with each and every one of you to achieve that.
[She looks as though she might have something more to say, then decides against it.]
I expect we will be talking again soon enough. For now, au revoir.
[Inclining her head slightly as a goodbye, Daemon disconnects the feed.]

I also stop people from trying to hurt each other. Common weapons do not pose a threat to me, so I am well-suited for mediating conflicts and convincing people to lay down their weapons.

...I hope I can learn from you, if you're that good a peacemaker.

[Daemon doesn't know how old she is, either.]
What is it like being a shinigami?
But, really, it's a lot of paperwork, mostly, and training, and routine patrols and meetings. Meetings can be fun, sometimes, but other times they just go really long, and patrols, too—they can be interesting, especially if you get sent to the Living World, but a lot of the time it's just walking and waiting around.
[She just sort of musing happily now.]
I train a lot, and I spend time reading about techniques and strategies for fighting. I'm pretty good at kidou—spells, that is—and I think it would be interesting to be part of the Kidou Corps. But I also think it's important to be a well-rounded shinigami, which is why I joined the Court Guards. [Well, that and... other reasons.]
It certainly sounds as though being a shinigami would keep you very busy. What do you do when you wish to enjoy yourself?
