[ The NV feed clicks on to a rather pleasant image. Two young girls, possibly friends, enjoying a meal. Well, only one of them is eating. The other is nursing a very large drink. Around them are several bags with a familiar fast food chain logo -- a simple red 'm' -- printed on them. It's early afternoon/late morning, and they're eating at a picnic table in the park.

That's already kind of suspicious, probably, but they might have paid! Maybe. (They didn't.) ]

What idiots! [ kyouko releases a laugh before stuffing her face with a burger and some french fries. not all at once though, she may be one to stuff her face but .. never all at once. ] They didn't even see us coming! [ she's talking with her mouth full so food may or may not be flying out. ] But who cares, we don't owe 'em anything. We got what we need, so it doesn't matter. [ more food is currently being crammed into this tiny girl's mouth. A VICIOUS BEAST WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD, SHE IS. ] The food kinda sucks, though. Ehhhh, should get somethin' better next time.

Additionally, work for my roommate and I. [ they're both quite young, obviously, only about fourteen years to each. she shoots a glance to Kyouko, and then finally begins eating. ] ... We are open to suggestions.

[ guilty by association, homura! She'll give this half of the duo some credit for owning up to the mistake, though, so she'll dump some science on her. ] I can try, but I've only been here a few weeks myself.

As far as I can understand, this is a region somehow outside of the regular flow of time and space, existing in its own continuum. This space-time anomaly was caused by a malfunction in a machine called the Core. It's also what's brought most of us here, and apparently the cause of the nighttime phenomena, as well.

They won't let anyone near it, though, so the way it works is still a mystery.

So finding out how it works could reveal a way home.

Certainly. As someone else said to me, we have more than enough brainpower on site to understand the machine.

There's likely some reason they won't let us near it. Since it involves the manipulation of timelines, it's probably dangerous. And I've also heard that it's damaged, so perhaps they want to avoid making the situation even worse. However, they're both bad reasons.

[ How terribly ominous! ] Could you understand how it works?

I can't say for sure, since I don't know anything about it.

[ She'll try to figure it out on her own, but dully noted. It's no different from ask Kyouko to help her defear Walpurgisnact, as far as Homura is concerned. She switches to a private network, since she knows what she's implying by giving the stranger her next statement. ]

[ And she's a bit surprised to see the feed go private. Those girls looked fairly young. What was she thinking...?

Moreover, should she give her actual name with how she's acting to Homura's friend? That would be sort of embarrassing. Then again, it is private... ]

I don't know what you're planning, but be careful. The Core is heavily guarded, and if you have abilities, they won't work there.

Please clarify. [ How does a core do that? Guarded by what? There are too many questions!! ]

I haven't been there myself. I'm a researcher, not a fighter. But it's guarded by people called Voids, who apparently dispel any sort of "powers" in a certain radius around them.

[ And Kurisu doesn't really understand what makes a "power," so she's not sure how to go into detail on that.
