Eleventh Trick: Permavideo

[The video opens with Loki sitting at a kitchen table, covered in empty egg cartons, Cadbury wrappers and Red Bull cans]

Had someone introduced my prior incarnation to these delicious creations, I might never have attempted to take over or otherwise destroy Midgard.

[A small groan as he sits up straighter] And thus I have decided to share the deliciousness with everyone.

[A pause and he spells out] P. S. they'll not change back. [Then grins and the feed cuts.]

[OOC: As always, the Lux is exempt. Elaine scares him.]

[She giggles at that.] Can I ask... how you did it?

[He snaps his fingers and green sparks between them]

Magic, of course.

I can do that too. [She snaps her fingers demonstratively, then focuses a red ball of light on the palm of her hand. ]

But... the whole island? You can do that?

Ah! [He likes you already]

On some things. And on other things, I would prefer to avoid the whole island.

What is your name? Be you a mage?

Hinamori! [She smiles.] And no... I'm a shinigami. A god of death and life? ["Soul reaper" was really the better term for it, but humans had called them gods for so long they had gotten used to it.]

Ah, yes. I have met a few of those in this place. Are you the sort with the zanpak-ah, I forget the name. The interesting sword, or the ... lawnmower and chainsaw sort?

Well met, Hinamori, I'm Loki.

Zanpakutō? [She turns her NV down to show off the sword at her side.] Mmhm. Who else have you met that has one?

[He thinks for a moment]

Well, I didn't catch her name, actually. But yes, that was what she called it!

[She only knows of one female shinigami in the city at the moment.] Was it Captain Unohana? I haven't had the chance to talk to her since I got here. But she teaches my flower-arranging lessons at home!

Do you know what a Zanpakutō is, then? They're not just swords. They're spirits of their own, too. With personalities and everything! [Had she a little more foresight, she might caution herself at giving out important power information so freely, but caution is not one of Hinamori's strong points. And she might have the tiniest crush on you for being able to turn all the things into chocolate.]

Possibly? ....flower arranging? Ah- that seems...particularly feminine.

[Poor awkward Loki]

I believe she mentioned something about that. You fight the corrupted souls, too, then? [And technically he gave her chocolate on White Day ahaha >.>; ]

[Another giggle. You're cute when you're awkward, Loki.]

Corrupted souls? Oh... Yes. [Last night had been her first time seeing the strange, miserable creatures, and that only through her window, but she could tell they were spirits, haunted and cursed by their pasts and this place. She says yes because it's her duty to manage the souls of the living world, no matter how different or dangerous, so of course she's going to do her best.]

Loki... [Said carefully, as though trying to memorize the name of someone important.] You're not from here, right? What was your home world like?

No, I am from quite a different place. [He grins] My world is populated with gods and aliens and heroes and villains- humans as well. Nine worlds linked by the Bifrost.

[He tips his head considering] And even that is deceptive, there are pocket places, limbos, hells, so many places. This island can feel stifling when put up against that.

[Her eyes light up with excitement. She wants to see ALL OF IT.]

And you? What are you? God, alien... villain? [A playful smile. She doesn't for one minute believe you're a villain.]

I suppose if I were an alien, I would not consider myself one because others would be alien to me and I would be quite native.

[A cheeky smile at that]</small. I am a god, of the Norse variety.

I suppose that's true! [Another smile.]

But... I don't know much about the... Norse. [What a weird word.] What are you a god of?

We mostly appeared before the Vikings, though we have been around before them and continue to linger even after. It's ah- complicated.

[Crosses his arms and considers] Technically, I am the god of Mischief, Chaos, Lies and Fire- but I am attempting to ah- redo my patronage. Perhaps the God of Fun? Or the God of Interesting Things.

Well, you seem to be succeeding! [She unwraps a chocolate egg and holds it up before taking a bite.] These are really good!

They are especially good when accompanied by these yellow marshmallow chicks- Peeps, I believe they are called. The chickens of Peep and Cadbury eggs are enough even on their own to make one second guess themselves about destroying Midgard.

[That catches her off-guard. She freezes mid-bite and looks at him with just the slightest bit of doubt.] Midgar— [She doesn't know what that means, but she can guess.] W-why would you destroy it?

Midgard is ah, Earth. The mortal realm.

[A slightly defensive huff] I used to be a rather complicated sort of person. With ill intentions. But I got better.

[Oh. She wonders whether to say, "I'm sorry," but then decides on something more positive.] I'm glad.

[She gives him a look that says she's willing to listen if he wants to say more. He might just brush her off and go back to talking about chocolate, but she wants to give him the space.]

[That really was the long and the short of it, in his opinion. The here and now mattered more to him, the future mattered more to him, than the ghosts of the past.]

How long have you been here?

Ah, since... since yesterday. [An embarrassed smile.] I still haven't really been anywhere, but at least my friends from home were here, so I'm not alone.

That is rather important, I should think. Being by oneself here would be difficult.

What do you think so far? Not too bad, I hope.

I... [Pardon her, Loki. She's just going to ramble now.] I had a life I really liked back home, and I miss it, but then... things... started going wrong and I... I don't know. This doesn't really feel right, being here. But, I've met some really nice people, and— [she smiles at Loki]— ones who can turn eggs into chocolate, and even though the night is horrible and I worry about how dangerous it is...

[She pauses, then laughs. It's not the most sincere laugh in the world.] I guess what I'm trying to say is no, it's not too bad! How do you like it?
