White Day's in two days. Which, to be honest, isn't a good sign for me. Yeah, I know not everyone celebrates it, but a certain someone I know does.

['And that certain someone, as we all know is the hurricane named Suzumiya Haruhi.']

So, let's just say that I need to give a pseudo-goddess a gift on that day. And I have no clue what to give her that, well... wouldn't set off a bomb that would possibly and most likely hurt me. I am definitely not going to give her some miniature carnivorous dinosaur.

Right.

So, what would you give as a present to a person who won't accept something 'ordinary'?

When I want to give someone something special, I always try and make it myself! What can you do that's unique to you?

At least you have someone to give a White Day gift to!

It's not a good thing when you have to repay the person ten fold.

['And especially since it's actually quite difficult to give her something.']

And I highly doubt that she gave me the chocolate on Valentine's Day because she likes me.

... Well, I guess that would be menial tasks.

Then perhaps you should find something that cannot be packaged at all! Even a pseudo-goddess must have offerings or rituals she likes, correct?

She's not the "ritual" type, I don't think...

The only thing she wants is something that isn't normal. After all, she isn't interested in the mundane.

She did it just so you would have to give her something this month? That's not fair at all! That goes against the whole system!

I see... Hmm! Miss Haruhi would certainly be difficult to find a gift for! I'm no good at thinking of such things, unfortunately.

What will she do if you don't get her anything for White Day?

What about something personal? Like a good luck charm?

You could! You could write her vouchers to promise an hour or half an hour of work! Or you could get someone to distract her and tidy for her while she's not there!

An entire holiday just to celebrate a certain color? Humans have such widely varied holidays. I didn't know they celebrated such simple things. I thought the concept of appreciating something so small was gone. That's so wonderful!

What sort of psuedo-goddess are you talking about, though? I knew there were other angels in town, but I wasn't aware there were was anyone that could pass as a diety. Even a fake diety!

Singing flowers, and if she is a goddess-- they should sing a hymn.

She'll give me some sort of weird penalty. In fact, who knows what will happen if I don't get her anything.

It's the Japanese follow-up for Valentine's Day. If you got something on Valentine's Day, you have to give them something back a month later, on White Day.

... A good luck charm, huh. Well, I know that we have good luck charms at home, but I don't know if she'll consider that as something different.

Well, we're not exactly celebrating the color, actually...

And I may call her a pseudo-goddess, but that's only because she has the power of a diety. You don't want to piss her off.

And where exactly am I supposed to find flowers that sing?

You can find anything in this city. And are there not devices who can play a recording of a voice if all else fails? [Get with the program Kyon. This guy is from Victorian times for heaven's sake and he's instructing you how to be clever with modern technology.]
