[Hello, Port. Today a certain redhead is sitting propped against a wall in a small building full of birds. Being friends with someone who has enough money to buy an entire aviary is pretty great. There are definitely at least three sitting on her as she begins to speak over the various noises.]

You know, I realized nobody had ever really seen inside here except me! But I like it a whole lot. It's really calming, and it's fun to take care of them all. Back home, I used to feed the birds that lived near the school, too, so it reminds me of my world a little bit. [As she talks, a pigeon comes down and sits on her head. Blinking, she looks up with a smile.]

I guess there are new people starting to come in now, too. I wonder if— [But then she pauses before looking quite panicked. She ducks down, and though the NV is pointed in the other direction now, there is the distinct sound of a bird hitting the glass wall of the aviary, as well as the muffled beginnings of a quack.

Birds are such intelligent creatures, aren't they?]

...oh. So what was with the ducking?

[motioned]

It was flying at me and it sort of surprised me, so I ducked on instinct and it flew into the window.

[laurice]

I guess that makes sense...I mean, that's a lot of birds you got there.

[motioned]

Yeah! It's an aviary, so I think that's what it's for.

[laurice]

You sure you can take care of 'em all?

[motioned]

Yeah, of course I can! I feed them twice a day and everything.

[laurice]

Did you buy 'em all, or did some of 'em just pop in and settle down?

[Settle down on you, that is.]

[motioned]

Oh, one of my friends bought me an aviary!

[laurice]

Whoa, you've got some pretty rich friends.

[motioned]

Really nice, too!

[laurice]

Yeah! Did you count how many birds are in there?

[motioned]

I think about twenty or thirty!

[laurice]

Remind me not to bring my cat with me when I visit your aviary...

[motioned]

That sounds like a good idea!

[laurice]

I mean...she can get...pretty energetic sometimes. At least that means my house stays rat-free.

[motioned]

I-Is she really mean?

[laurice]

Um...not really. She just likes playing too much. And pouncing on everything that moves.

[motioned]

B-But pouncing in the friendly way, right?

[laurice]

Um...it's not exactly friendly if you're a rat. Or a bug.

[motioned]

[Paaaause.]

B-But it's okay with birds, right?

[laurice]

...uh...

[He's pausing, too.]

W-well...she's a cat.

[motioned]

[Well, that's clear enough.]

M-Maybe you should leave her at home if you ever come! I mean, I like cats for the most part, I really do, just... [Not when they're ferocious.]

[laurice]

[He nods vigorously.]

I see what you mean, yeah.

[motioned]

She didn't seem that bad when I came over! Is it just around, um... Other animals?

[laurice]

I think it depends on when she's feeling really excited and playful. But you have nothing to worry about - she's nice to anyone I'm with!
