I need any information on magic pertaining to souls, unleashing or releasing them. Any information would be helpful. 

This is not the first time Angelus has been released. The first time it was released by ancient Asian magic. It took a powerful witch to get it back. And in the meantime, he went on a rampage.

I don't care if he's on some bounty. This isn't who he is, and I'm sure it's to be said for the other vampire. I'm not the most skilled in magic, but I think I could do this. I simply don't have the right resources.

If any need information on protecting yourself, holy water and crosses will fend him off, but I advice staying in your house or apartment.

[Her eyes narrow.] I'm not a child and I wasn't the person who released him.

[He knows she's freaking out right now, but he's not going to back down. He genuinely likes her, and the last thing she needs now is to do something reckless.]

You just can't know what'll happen when you play with shit like that. I made that mistake and it got my best friend gutted.

Have you recorporealized a soul? I've dealt with magic. I've done damn near impossible things. I will get him back, dammit.

[She clearly hasn't slept in two days. John's tone set her off.]

Look. I know how things can get. You think you're the one who needs to fix it all, by yourself. You think it's your fault, deep down, and it's all on you.

Thinking like that's what got me killed. [Eventually.] You're gonna run yourself into the ground if you keep on. Go get some sleep and look at this with fresh eyes.

Like I said. Don't treat me like a child. I'm not one and I'm certainly not yours. My parents actually raised me the right way.

I know what I'm doing. This isn't about guilt. How many people are being slaughtered while we sit here and waste time? They're going to go after him.

And by the way, I worked on less sleep while battling the Apocalypse. Come talk to me when you've got one of those under your belt.

[And then Chuck's reply ends, but from Fred's end there's noise as Chuck runs off to find her and go into the room she's in. He approaches carefully.]

Stop this, okay? He's not treating you like anything. He's just trying to help. You know that. Come on, just- take a break for a minute, please?

[She looks up, still trying to research into magic.]

I'm not going to do that, Chuck. There are actual people replying with useful information.

And what's John, a Cylon? Come on, be reasonable. Michael can handle it while you get an hour or two of shut-eye. He's good at this stuff and understands the need for mercy. [Sort of.] Let us help.

[She sighs and rubs her face.]

I can't, Chuck. I can't just give up.

[Chuck steps closer and puts his hands on her shoulders gently, ducking his head down to make sure she meets his eyes.]

I'm not asking you to. We won't let you down.

Come on. [He gently pries the NV from her hands, acutely aware that John can hear every word of this.] Let's just talk, okay? You can talk to John later.

[That part was for you, man. He can't break flow in the argument to apologize on her behalf, but the glance he gives the NV at the hunter right before shutting the NV off should communicate at least something.

But back to Fred.]

[This is not over, John Winchester. She's far too tired to even fight Chuck. So she just sort of whines when he pulls it away. But there's a moment of relief. Where... things are just quiet.

She blinks at him.]

Please, Chuck. [She dips her head down and stifles a yawn.]

I just need more coffee.

[Okay, pocketing her NV now and getting an arm around her shoulders.]

Okay, fine.

[But it'll be decaf. He's sneaky like that.]

[It's all John can do to not give he a verbal reaming, especially after the "my parents actually raised me right" comment. He knows she's read some of Chuck's "work"- she admitted it- but if she's been judging him from them alone...well, that plus this suicidal streak she apparently has, it's probably better for him to bail now.]

[She groans and puts her head in her hands.]

Sorry. I just-- He wouldn't stop if this was reversed. You don't know him like I do. You haven't seen the actual demon in him, you haven't nursed him back to humanity before. I need to do this, Chuck. This is the one thing I'm actually good at, and I can't fail him.

Knowing your limits and letting others take over while you sleep so you can look at it with fresh eyes isn't failing him, that's resourcing and delegating.

I don't know him like that, but I know what happens when smart people push themselves too hard. They get sloppy.
