Someone is Missing
[Enjolras knows that he has been barred from public speaking by AGI, but he can't find anything that specifically excludes him from using the network. As long as he doesn't mention AGI he should be safe. He's avoided it until now. But the situation is getting desperate.
He looks on edge, and like he hasn't slept in days. The video starts with him looking over his shoulder, then at the camera.]
Citizens of Siren's Port.
Please excuse the message, but I am in need of assistance. A friend, someone close to me, is missing. If you have any information about him, please contact me. He is of middle height and average weight, brown hair and brown eyes, and would be French in nationality. He answers to the name of Grantaire.
He... he has a fondness for drink and may be in bars or possibly even drunk. No matter, he has been a good friend to me, and I am concerned for him. With everything that happens after dark here I have reason to fear the worst.
Please, if there is any information, contact me here.
Thank you for listening.

Probably got sent home or something. Too bad, Granite seemed a decent fellow, if a bit long winded at times.
[Says the guy who won't shut up]
Re: Video
By God...
No, that can't be. [Enjolras goes pale. He doesn't seem to notice the knives, or at least he knows deadpool well enough not to think much of it.]
We have to find him, get him back here.
Video
Well, if it were that simple, I'd have a lot more people I like here.
Video -> Action
It isn't that simple. We CAN'T just GO BACK him and I. It doesn't work that way for us.
Video -> Action
Dead, is it? Well there are a lot of people who are dead at home who are here now.
[He hurls the knife so it goes whizzing by Enjolras head and lands squarely on a target to his right]
My suggestion? Drink some wine, hope he returns, be sad for awhile, then move on with things. Maybe take up a cooking class, or some knitting. You could also learn how to actually properly use a gun, or that sword I got you.
Action
[He flinches as the knife goes past, but doesn't respond otherwise.]
How do you know? I never told you that. But it's true. When I left the real world and found myself here I was about to be shot by a firing squad.
He... he was beside me. And he was beside me because he wanted to be.
So you see, I can't just do nothing!
Action
Call it a hunch. You don't seem the type authorities would like to have around for a lot of time. There is something about a guy who points out what is wrong with the whole system that just pisses them off.
[A shrug]
Actually, nothing is all anyone can do, its one of the shitty parts about the Core. He could come back tomorrow, a year from now, or not at all. Its pretty much like a dice toss or something, you don't know what it will be, and so far, no one has figured out how to cheat.
If you are really set on doing something, we could blow up an AGI building or something? That might make you feel better?
Re: Action
Wait, come back?
And I would, if I thought it would help anything. It wouldn't, would it?

[She had resolved to help people this year, and this is the perfect chance to make good on it.]
Re: [Text, private]
It was a few days ago. I don't have any clothes of his, I don't think, but I'm willing to try anything.

Did he ever use the NV network?
[The video function seemed to come the most naturally to people.]
Re: [Text, private]
I apologize, I know I'm not much help. Excuse me.
I'm not used to being at such a loss.

Text, some hours later
voice;
Unfortunately, this city has a habit of taking good friends away.
I'm Franz d'Epinay, I don't believe we've spoken before.
Re: voice;
You knew Grantaire? Where did you meet him? Who do you live with? Forgive the questions, but I am very anxious about him. The more information I have the more chance I have at finding him.
Very early the next morning, action possibly?
But all he gets is a cheerful message in a computerized voice, that the number he had been trying to reach was no longer in service. That only meant one thing.
It's with a grim face that Francis closes his NV. He can't answer right now since he's taking the subway home from work, and he'll soon have to get off at his stop. Besides, it would be easier to talk to him in person anyway.
Francis steps into the House of Awesome shortly after, and does his usual routine of putting the large containers of leftovers from Lion's Gate away, setting everything out for making breakfast when he wakes up, and heading upstairs to go to sleep. But, he first makes a stop at Enjolras' door, to lightly knock on it and speaks in a quiet voice.]
Enjolras...?
[He assumes the poor boy will still be awake, but if he isn't, the light knock won't wake him.]
Perfect!
His eyebrows raise and draw, and his lips quiver with breath as if he might speak, but the emotions seem to flutter too close to the surface. There's a long steadying breath and he gives up the effort to speak just yet.
With a look of relief, even gratitude, he stands aside from the doorway and gestures Francois into the apartment.]
:3
I had hoped you would be asleep, chéri. It is already past two in the morning.
[He still speaks in hushed tones, even if the likelihood is that he's not going to wake up anyone in the rest of the house. Still, he's tired, his poor Enjolras needs comfort, and keeping quiet seems to be the best solution to both problems.]

I couldn't sleep.
[His voice is cracked and rough.]

So I see. [He pauses, his tone growing more worried.] How long has this been happening?
no subject
He pauses for a very long time.]
He's gone...

After a long moment of silence, he speaks up.]
I was... afraid this sort of thing might happen.
