[Today she's seated on her bed, her favorite spot for the more casual, cheerful messages to the network. As such, there's a smile on her face as she begins to speak.]

Hi! Um, I just wanted to say something really quick. My sixteenth birthday is in a few weeks, and I think I'm going to have a small party for it.

[She still doesn't think it's such a big deal, but she's fairly certain someone who's been here a while would have remembered and insisted she have a party anyways. That's what happened last year, at least!]

It won't be anything extravagant at all, and nobody has to get anything for me even if they decide to come. But everyone I know is welcome! It's on the afternoon of the 24th, but I know a lot of people are busy, so I thought it'd be good to mention it in advance. Oh, and of course it's okay if anybody can't make it! That's all I really had to say.

[ He stops; and jerks his head around, to stare at her. He actually colors: a light flush on his pale cheeks. His gaze drops, from her eyes to the floor.

How can a good person love someone so twisted? That is what I do not understand.

I think it can be kind of hard to see that when you care about someone a lot. And, I mean, they're family...

[ Still not meeting her eyes. ]

But if they don't deserve it...

It's folly!

Action:

Even if it doesn't make sense, it's not the kind of thing he can stop... I just don't want him to end up hurt because of it.

Action:

[ He startles, a little, as though he'd been thinking about something else. ]

So many times, I've told him. He's got to make a choice, or else he'll hurt the very person he--

[ Abruptly, he breaks off. Now he looks up, staring at her. ]

Ah...

But perhaps, if you were to say something...

I don't know if it would change anything. Besides, what if I said something to him about it and he brought it up with Vincent afterwards?

Action:

[maddeninghatter]

For sure nothing will change, if we do nothing.

[ He appears to wrestle with some internal dilemma for a moment. Finally he lets out a short, sharp, impatient sigh. And then, decisively, he crosses over to her wardrobe and flings it open. Hope you don't have anything too personal in there, Ahiru! ]

I'll speak to him. Again. But I still think it's better if you do it!

I'll think about it, but - stay out of there, you can't just dig through people's stuff!

[She takes a few steps towards him, frowning.]

[ Not only does he ignore her, but he... steps into it. ]
