[she feels foolish for being captured. Of course she is grateful for the rescue, but the fact that it was needed at all makes her realize just how much she's been neglecting training]

Now that we are back in the port, I wonder if there are any swordsmen willing to teach me their skills? I am a willing student and will learn quickly.

Who told you about coffee anyway?

[towerlocked]

Her name was Buffy, I believe. She told me-- [she hesitates, wondering if she should confess] She told me it was customary in your time to invite a person to coffee.

[maybe that already gave too much away. "Coffee" is code for "date", apparently]

[charmedson]

Customary?

[towerlocked]

Yes. Is that not so...? [nervously fidgets with her hands]

[charmedson]

It is. For people who want to date....

Is that what you want?

[towerlocked]

I... [she glances up to his face, taking a breath] I care for you very much. If I were to have anything more than simply your friendship, I... would feel very honored.

[charmedson]

[Chris turns to look at her.]

Are you sure? Have you... have you ever been more than friends with someone?

[towerlocked]

I... no, I have not. The idea was the farthest thing from my mind.

[charmedson]

I have.

And... she died. [Christ admits after a moment. His voice is a little low.] That's been hanging over me since it happened but when I'm with you, I feel like it's a little better.

[He isn't very good with talking about how his heart feels, so he stops there, uncertain what to say, not used to feeling so exposed. He wants to explain that Bianca betrayed him before hand but had died saving him. That he had thought he'd get to see her again if he fixed the future. That Snow is the first girl he's met to make him completely forget about his pain over what had happened to her, but all of those words just don't come.]

[she sensed there was some unspoken pain in his heart. A loss not unlike the Huntsman's. She lifts a hand, uncertain if she should comfort him]

I would never impose on such a memory. I am more than happy to remain your friend, if that is your wish.

That's not what I wish. I really--I care about you. While we're here, I don't see why we can't try for more if it's what we both want.

I just wanted you to know. In case I seem kind of... distant.

[she smiles] I do not mind the distance.

[charmedson]

[He nods]

So this is a date then?

[towerlocked]

Yes... Though the coffee no longer seems necessary.

[charmedson]

Well, we're here so we might as well get something warm to drink.

[towerlocked]

Very well.

[charmedson]

[Chris moves to order hot chocolate for them both, because he still doesn't like the idea of giving her a whole coffee. Though he does get a small one on the side so she can at least try it.]

Thank you. [she wraps both hands around the cup, breathing it in] It's been so long since I enjoyed a hot chocolate.

[charmedson]

Here. Try this first, so that you'll have the hot chocolate in case you don't like the taste. [He hands over the small coffee.] This is coffee. If you do like it, still don't drink the whole thing because of the caffeine.

[curiously she ships the coffee, shuddering at the unexpectedly bitter taste]

It's very strong. But not unpleasant.

[charmedson]

Most people put sugar or cream into it.

[towerlocked]

That would help it considerably.

[charmedson]

[He glances around the place. It's Newcomer friendly so there's not going to be an issue with him showing his powers and they're sitting close enough to the station where the cream and sugar are...

So he holds up his hand and beckons them over. He might be showing off a little, and it's still way too weird to be able to use his powers in public like this. He still likes using good magic in front of her though, and he's in such a good mood from their conversation.

The sugar and cream float over neatly. This place is so Newcomer friendly that the couple of people who do look up go back to their work as soon as they know that the cream and sugar aren't going to explode.]

[she watches him, growing more and more relaxed the longer she's exposed to hs magic. Which was probably his intention from the start. His magic fascinates her, her eyes flickering from the cream and sugar to his face.

She reaches out a hand to take the sugar when it gets close enough. It feels the same despite its strange trip there]

Amazing... Was that a magic spell?
