I shall be blunt. You do realize that sort of reaction is exactly what they are searching for, correct? To allow their words to engrave themselves into your mind is to allow them to make of you a fool. It is a rather simple ploy, really. They seek to stir up trouble so that there is a response that justifies their words. Are you familiar with the concept of a self-fulfilling prophecy? I somehow doubt it, but this is a similar thing. As for why I say you should pity them, I fear you are confusing pity for sympathy. I am not saying you should feel sorry for them. Rather, I am saying that you should see how pathetic they are. The insult of an insect is no insult at all.
