Alois is all dressed up to go out, just doing up the gold buttons on a winter coat as he stands in front of the NV.] I hope you all understand, [he says, chin tilted down to watch his fingers, and a little bit solemnly,] how lovely we can have it here.

Ciel should be home soon. [His head's up again, and he tugs his coat down to straighten it, and then reaches out of frame. There's a rustling, and when his hands are back in view, they're holding a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.] I'm going to see him now, and he's feeling better. Should get some cookies from the kitchen before I go... [Cos fuck hospital rules on food. He'll probably end up getting in trouble with the nurses... He reaches out to switch off the video, but pauses to add: ]

Times like these we get our hands dirty, don't we?

[He'd expected to show up within a half an hour, but actually it's closer to fifty minutes when he sidles into Ciel's hospital room, rosy-cheeked. His hands are white with cold; he's not wearing his mittens. They're tied to his coat and dangle merrily at his side. He's wearing a larger, thicker muffler than he usually chooses, and his coat is less flattering than usual, too. He sacrifices a lot for Ciel, you know.]

I'm here, I'm here, [he says, breathy, shuffling inside with an armful of white roses. He shuts the door behind himself.]

_{[Alois is here and Ciel sits up a bit in the bed to greet him. The roses are spotted, white - his favourite - but Ciel's more interested in seeing whether or not Alois brought him soup and, most importantly, timbits.]}

Hello, you're here. You're pink.

Of course I'm pink, it's very cold out. I hope you're cushy in here. [Now he's hurrying in - well, 'hurrying'... He's walking kind of awkwardly. His trek to rest the roses at the side of the hospital bed is almost a ginger waddle. Almost.

He peeks over his shoulder, just to make sure the door's still closed, and then snatches up his mittens. This is why his hands are so cold, Ciel: he withdraws a few timbits that were hidden in the mittens, done up in Saran wrap and drops them on the bed next to Ciel. Ah... Now he's fishing some out of that bulky muffler... Now he's wiggling some out of his pockets.............. Oh god he's birthing timbits like crazy.] They weren't going to let me bring them in, [he says, hushed.]

_{[All Ciel can do is simply stare dumbfounded, lips parted into a tiny 'o' shape as he watches Alois dump timbits out of various locations on his body. It's as if he's witness to a strange magic trick or performance. Really, he's not sure what to make of it.]}

...Yet you managed to bring them.

I told you I would. Ah - [Now he's reaching into his coat... awkwardly... aaaaaaa............

And he pulls out a covered cup of soup.] You have to share this with me. I'm hungry and I'm not your drug mule.

I'll share I will. _{[A sigh. He wants the timbits more so anyway.]}

You had better. [Wiggle... shake... there. Ten plastic-wrapped timbits are piled up on the hospital bed next to Ciel. With a final flourish, he reaches questionably into his coat and pulls a 20 ounce bottle of Fruitopia out of... the top of his sleeve??? No wonder he was walking around all bulky, Jesus Christ. We knew you weren't working out, Alois.] There. Happy?

Good. I'd be cross if you weren't, it was a lot of work, you know. [But he looks relieved.]

This will content you til tomorrow, won't it? You can hold out til then? [He shifts the timbits aside, so that he can sit close to Ciel.] I wish I could carry you out in my coat.

I think this is the only time I wish I was smaller than I am now.

Small enough to fit in my pocket. I'd take very good care of you. [And, finally and gladly, he leans down to kiss Ciel's hair.]

I would imagine so. _{[Although pocket sized would be rather inconvenient.]} You'll give me a kiss then, will you? A proper one?

Mmhmm. [He leans down further, then, and kisses Ciel quite properly, mouth to mouth and very pleased about it.] Eat your junk, [he chides afterward, bumping foreheads.] Or they'll come in and throw me out.

_{[For all his grievances about Alois bugging him, spending days in the hospital mostly alone and bored out of his mind is anything but pleasant. Most of all he misses his own bed, for many a reason. Needless to say, the kiss is a pleasant one - a treat of its own sort.]}

_{[And so he reaches for one, unwrapping it and popping it in his mouth, cheek stuffed.]}

I put in a job application this morning. [Alois says it conversationally, as he twists open the cap on Ciel's juice bottle for him.] Because I was thinking about it a little more after we came back home.
