I bet most of us are glad to be back here after all that.

[A pause; her voice is without it's usual spirit and cheer, though not downright somber. She's just exhausted, even after a full rest.]

I hope all of us are okay after everything that happened, but I'd like to make sure, too, so... If anybody knows someone who was hurt, or something worse than that, or knows people who are okay, I'd like to know.

I hope anyone who got hurt is seeing a doctor, too, even if they think it might not be that serious. It's always better to be safe than it is to be sorry. I'm sure you'll be glad for it in the end, and your friends, too.

Oh, I know! Just, you asked what kind of medicine we had back home, so I was just explaining. I've already come up against stuff bandages would never fix, so I definitely know that. Don't worry.

Do you think we could help them?

Well - I think people would rather go to doctors who have gone to school for it and stuff, but if there was an emergency and it wasn't something complicated, we probably could.

We could do a better job than them, though. We can travel.

Well, yeah, but we don't have as much training for serious things. I think most of that stuff is better left to professionals. Besides, a big reason they can't travel is because the equipment they use can't be carried around easily, right?

"I suppose so..." She frowns. "But we could learn how to do it better."

I don't know about better... It's not easy to become a doctor or surgeon. You have to be really good to be allowed to do it, I think. Even if we just became as good as them, that would take months. Probably years.

I'm not saying you shouldn't try, just - don't make it sound like an immediate thing we could do.

But we have to do something... [She doesn't have years. She has to learn now. How to handle a scalpel. How to heal people. Everything. She has to learn now.]

We are doing something, you know that, but if you try to rush something big like this and think you're ready, you might end up hurting somebody on accident. Try to remember that, okay?

I know. But what are we supposed to do if people are hurt? We have to learn faster...

Then we do everything we can, and take them to a doctor for the things we're not ready to fix yet.

[It's almost like talking to herself when she was younger. She has to smile, trying to be reassuring.]

Prim, you need to calm down, okay? It's going to be fine, I promise. The people here have survived for years without one more doctor, I think they last a little bit longer. They're tough, don't worry.

[She nods, but doesn't quite looking at Ahiru. The idea of letting it go... it's hard for her. She needs to do something. Something good.]

I guess the question I should be asking is, will you be okay?

I know how hard it is, believe me. I've been there.

....What do you mean?

I think I know a little of how you're feeling. That you're useless or not worth enough because you can't help people as much as you'd like, right? And that you hate seeing people suffering and not being able to do anything about it?

I know what it's like, to feel like that. When I was younger, I did a lot. So, I want to help if I can.

We should be able to help them, though. People shouldn't have to suffer here.

It's good if you can help people, but try to remember it's not your personal responsibility, okay?

Who else can do it, though?
