Eleventh Journey // Video - sometime around midnight
[The night is winding down, and the house is quiet again (It's emptier than last year, but certainly just as warm.) Sora hopes he hasn't woken anyone up, but for those awake in the last hours of Christmas... how about some company?]
Hey there. Did everybody have a good Christmas?
I sure did. It's been hours and I'm still stuffed!
[Sora's reclining on his stomach on the bed, eyes not on the screen but on a notebook in front of him. It's a letter unlike any other he's written (though far more important.) The recipient of this particular document won't receive it until after Sora disappears from the port. These days, with his friends going missing from the Port one by one, he thinks that day might be coming soon.]
I wonder where I'll be next Christmas...
[He taps the end of the pen on the paper, rests his chin on his hand in thought. He's written a lot, but there's so many things he needs to say if this person comes back to the Port one day in the future. The pen finds the paper again, but only to trace idly over the first line at the very top:
'Dear Me,']
The memories I've made here, the people I've met? They're special. Even if one day, we can't spend time with each other on Christmas in the future? Deep down, we'll always remember.
[He'd honestly thought about asking some tough questions tonight. Asking about how to keep friends safe, even when you're not there. About how to keep promises when you don't remember them. How to honor precious people you'll never see again back home. Things that seem impossible to detail, even if he had all the stationary to do it on.
But that's all right. He'll figure all this out somehow. In any case, it's late. It's Christmas. Sora feels good. And he hopes everyone else does too.]
So ... [He looks up with a smile] thanks for everything.

[He goes quiet and still for a long moment, the surprise evident on his face. First he doesn't speak because he has no words; then he takes a few seconds more to recover himself and avoid saying the wrong ones.]
Is there something you need to tell me?
Re: video; private
I'm not going anywhere, not on purpose.

And it's not like wanting to stay would keep him here.]
Not everyone who leaves wants to.

A lot of people from our world have been disappearing. That's why I wanna be prepared.
I made all these memories for a reason. I can't just let them disappear if I do.

[He doesn't like to think about it, but he knows Sora's right.]
Must be a long letter.

[He pauses for a moment.]
Hey... you wanna meet up somewhere?

He shakes it off. Puts the thought away.]
Yeah, sure. Where?
Re: video; private
How about the usual spot?
[The beach. Seems like most of their important talks take place by the shore.]

I'll be there.

He has the letter in his hands, though woefully unfinished. There's just so many things to say, and not enough time to sort all his thoughts out. Hopefully, he has time enough to get the important things down should he be next to disappear.
Either way, the one who will hold all his important memories will be the one he's meeting here on the beach today.]
action;
But he's no coward, so he steps out of the portal a little ways down the beach and walks toward his Other. His friend.]
Hey, Sora.
action;
Who woulda thunk it'd be so hard to talk to yourself....
Re: action;
I dunno. Never tried it before, unless you count my diary. And that's not really the same thing.
action;
Have you ever thought about what might happen if you disappeared?
action;
Yeah. A bunch.
I'd be back there, you know? Trying to get to the castle, fighting Riku...you know what happens next. I don't know if having been here would make a difference.
I like to think it would. Somehow.
action;
I'm sorry. About what happens.
[He's sorry about what Riku does to him, he's sorry Riku was put in that situation in the first place, and he's sorry that he needed Roxas to wake up at all. It's a sorrowful thought, that someone has to disappear for his sake.]
