001 | voice.

[ when the feed comes into play, elliot's voice sounds faintly troubled. it's the voice of someone who hasn't had a proper night's sleep due to many thoughts plaguing his mind. the unusual tone of a teenage boy who has had enough. and the fact that something seems to be amiss in this world once again isn't helping. ]

There was a saying I heard here a while ago. I believe it went 'You can't trust anyone as far as you can throw them'. And now I see this phrase is taking more truth than I thought it ever would. Be it acquaintance, friend, or family. Sometimes you have to think twice about how you really feel about them. Before you can put your full trust in them.

Because if you do... If the situation comes up that you've made the wrong decision and the ugly truth is revealed about this person, you can regret it for the rest of your life.

[ he's a bit touchier than usual, try not to think too much on it. he can't help it right now. there is a pause in the feed before he cleared his throat and continued. ]

On another topic, it's sad to see how a power outage like this can cause such an uproar. That being said, stay safe and if you need help.. Well, people have said this before me. Call someone you know you can count on.

[ trying not to contradict his precious statements, he'll give a sigh. ]

Sorry for using your time. If anyone else has thoughts about what's going on, I would like to know.

Please, [Alois says as he rummages in a cupboard; he gestures behind himself at the bar stools near the counter.] Sit down. How do you want your tea? I usually take mine with lots of sugar, since I never do taste much, but today...

[He finds a box of biscuits.]

Looks like my tongue works just fine again. Weird, huh?
faking: (i don't think i ever heard you speaking.)

The story of Faust... [Alois opens the biscuits, peeks inside.] Is the story of a man who makes a deal. A contract, much like the contracts between people and Chains, where you come from. I think Ciel told you about this, at least a little...

Ah, plain milk for you, maybe? I'm fine, I've got it.

[Some disjointed humming as he fetches the milk. Surely it won't be too surprising to Elliot if he just says...] I made a contract, so I could get something I wanted. I sold part of myself. Or, he was selling something, and I paid...

[The kettle whistles. He moves to tend to it.]

But I don't have that contract anymore. Today, I woke up and it was gone.

[Clink, clink, but Alois pauses, after Elliot speaks. Then he turns on his heel, with a tea tray, cups and saucers atop. The tray makes it safely onto the counter.]

Yes, [Alois says simply.] It bothers me.
