[The feed crackles on in the Darkness, the usual growls and other eerie noises of night at Siren's Port conspicuously absent in the area. It takes a moment for Castiel's image to become clear on the screen, almost melding out of the dark, expression smoothly neutral except for the faint hint of a smirk that looks completely out of place on his usually serious face.
His eyes are dark in the dim lighting, endless and like staring into an abyss, and even across the electronic feed the sense of wrongness is readily apparent.]
So I find myself here once more.
[His voice is soft, calm, almost uncaring, as if showing up in the Port again is a curiosity and nothing more. Then he smiles.]
It seems a good place to begin.

I mean, technically I don't think he's possessed exactly since I think he's still making his own decisions and thinking for himself? But he's stuffed full of all kinds of darkness, so much that it's driven him crazy.

What does it say, that when he's terrified enough to let some emotion slip through, that he runs literally headlong to his brother?
Or that when the feed comes back on, Michael's left shoulder visible in the corner of the frame and Raphael is composed looking more like marble than ever, save no statue would ever be carved with a jaw drawn that tight.]

He swallowed all the souls and monsters and- things in Purgatory. Some asshole made him so desperate that he thought it was the only way to save the world.

He... took in those souls for power, he had no idea it would drive him crazy. He didn't really understand the mechanics of how drawing power from souls works, I think. I mean. Nobody ever told him.
He's just an angel. He didn't have any leaders or big brothers he could actually count on. Just- Raphael? Please. Just. Keep yourself safe, and don't talk to me about how it's all his fault. He screwed up, but he was pushed. I mean, hard.

The fact that he had to sink to that should have told him he shouldn't have done it to begin with. Not to mention what it must have taken to find Purgatory, considering I don't even know where it is, much less how to open it.
He might have been pushed, and you might blame me for it, but if it was my doing? It was because I was trying to hold the Host together, to prevent war between us, and rescue my brother from the Cage.
He wasn't the only one under pressure.
