006 - Audio - Forward dated to November 6
[ Two days. It has been two days of Jesse waiting. Waiting for a certain someone to come to the apartment. The last time he seen him he was in an cold Sunday night, when both of them went to bed. The morning after, Bruce was gone and assuming that he went to work on something, Jesse's been waiting for his return ever since.
At first, he remembers an earlier talk and maybe figured that he got caught up and it was after Dark, so he decided to stay in someone's place. But as the nighttime hours have grown longer and the daylight hours shorter, Jesse cannot wait idly anymore. Two days are long enough to wait.
He's not interested in showing his face today, for he has started to get the smallest of suspicions of what really happened to Bruce. But Jesse wants to know for sure.]
Where's Bruce Banner.
[ The question is made a statement out of Jesse's slowly growing anger and worry, but it will be hard to tell, as a child who is not known to show any emotions at all.
If anything, he sounds cold, and the lights in his room are starting to flicker, unseen by the network. ]

I'm sure he didn't mean to just up and leave you though.
[Bruce had at least told him about the kid he'd adopted.]

[ He says this a little mulishly. ]
Not all of us can go home.
[ Like Jesse. ]
no subject
And you're right, no all of us can or will go home. I know he said he was taking care of you. You alright?

[ Spoiler: this is a lie. ]

He flicks the light on again and with a thought, opens the door. Doors don't ultimately matter if one can teleport anyway. ]

He walks in, glancing around for a place to sit, leaning against a chair.]
Hi Jesse. Want to take a walk and talk a little bit?
no subject
No.
no subject
All right. Do you know how to work the Newcomer Directory on the NV system?
no subject
While Jesse demands answers, he's in no mood to be fair and gives his own. ]
no subject
Ok. Well, every Newcomer is listed there. Sometimes by a name, or a nickname, but they are there. Bruce isn't listen and I had the computer - Cerebra - scan the island for him. He's not here, so the Core has sent him home, the companies don't have him.
[He knows there are ways of disconnecting the NV from the Network and hiding your identity from the general population, which is why he checked Cerebra. Bruce wasn't here.]
no subject
Cerebra tells you when he comes back?
no subject
[And he is sorry. He knows what it's like to lose a parent.]
