[ While Hattie is "safely" away for the evening with a certain Mr. Nightray, Ella is enjoying the night off! And as she has been relatively quiet, for reasons of her own, she was bringing to the network a question.

Of course she is curled up on her bed looking a bit worn out from being sick (not cold-sick, oh-god-what-are-you-making-me-eat sick). Kyra was curled up on the bed next to Ella, dozing like a good wolfdogpup. ]

We don't precisely have this kind of holiday back in Frell, or at least it isn't called "Valentine's Day". But I get the idea of it, for the most part. I'm more curious about people's interpretation of "love" though. I mean, there are a lot of different types - the one I'm referring to leans more to ... well, creepy, actually.

Say you have a girl who likes a guy - or the reverse. Maybe it's a guy who likes a girl. Either way, someone likes someone. Only it's not mutual. What would you consider of the person that forces their love on you - like breaking into your apartment to fix you food, climbing into your bed while you're asleep, stalking your apartment or home to watch you turn the lights on and off.

Basic creeper behavior, in my opinion. But some people think that if it's a "powerful love" then it's okay, even if - in one case, the guy doesn't want anything to do with girl "in love" with them. So what do you think? Is that kind of behavior validated because of love, or would you call them out on being creepy and unwanted?

[ A pause, and she grins, tiredly. ]

And before certain people jump to conclusions, no, it's not a hypothetical friend of a friend of a friend nonsense. It's related to a conversation I had with my stepsister and Flonne a few weeks ago.

Oh and Byakuya, I'm sorry I wasn't in today - I hope Hattie didn't make a mess of things.

For that matter how did they get it INTO the office?

I felt the worst last night, but I think I've purged the most of it. I just feel really run down right now - probably as a result of said purging.

I want to tell her not to cook anymore, but she has to learn sometime.

Like girls who don't take no for an answer.

If it's that hard, it's probably because there isn't any.

I don't blame you. I honestly don't know the appeal, but I don't exactly spend much time with the local media. Weather, news - and okay, that show it a bit of a guilty pleasure, but I prefer a nice book and a fire, and my pup.

That's a bit excessive don't you think? Not to mention I'm sure you'd get jail time for something that can be resolved without violence.

I think it crosses every line of good taste there is. It's a little disturbing to think there are people who would condone that though.

Really? Are you going to say it's stupid when it's you that's being stalked by someone you don't care for, who doesn't know how to take no for an answer?

More likely he tossed them in the trash or otherwise destroyed them. [Exactly what Hitsugaya would have done himself. He doesn't accept gifts from people he hates.]

You seem like you're on the outside of this little conundrum, so I'd normally ask if this was even any of your beeswax. For the sake of argument I'll say this: I don't think stalkee is being completely clear about their wanting the stalker to go away.

Stalking someone's apartment day and night against their wishes could be motivated by love. Even normally sensible people sometimes do foolish things under the influence of love. But breaking into someone's apartment requires an extreme lack of empathy for the other's point of view, which rarely combines with a love for the actual person living in that apartment. Most people, after all, don't want to frighten their beloved.

[She sighs.] Though it's not at all unlikely a stalker is in love with the version of that person who lives in their daydreams. Unfortunately, the flesh and blood reality doesn't have the same feelings or reactions as the daydream.

In a word? No.

[How little he actually cares about the law, let him show you.]

I'm not saying I wouldn't attempt to dissuade the stalker in other, more legal, less lethal ways. But if I had sound reason to believe it wouldn't work? I wouldn't lose any sleep over dispatching a threat to my family.

[If you want the bear, you should speak up because he's getting rid of all of it.]

My office is rarely locked. The students too advantage of that. I'm sure the cleaners can dispose of it.

[ Yeah because that conversation will end so well when Hattie asks her where she got the bear. And that's assuming she didn't steal it like she took everything else. ]

Maybe you should consider locking your office so this sort of things doesn't happen again then.

Firstly, she's my stepsister, not my sister. Secondly, I hope you don't think she's the only person in the world who can't take no for an answer.

Anyway I have it on good authority that she can. ... it just takes a bit.

[He won't bother saying that he doesn't feel bad for Hattie. After all, Ella already knows that. Why be redundant?]

It's what he was planning on doing with everything else; I see no reason why this would be any different, especially as he would know I wouldn't accept them.

Most, sure, but if they're so out of touch with that is appropriate, they may not even consider the possibility that they'd be frightening the target of their love. It might even seem perfectly normal to them.

It's just hard to fathom that someone who is otherwise sensible can be that dense in those kinds of matters.

That's a shame. Protecting your family is one thing, but taking it to those extremes is another. On that, we'd definitely have to disagree.

[ At least she doesn't sound overly disgusted. ]
