[ There's a lot going on in the Port right now, but a one Sam Winchester doesn't care. He's only been missing for two days, but he looks as if he's been gone for months. The changes are slight, in his physical appearance. His demeanor, though... is another story. And when he goes to send out a message to his brother, he's not quite put together enough to manage the secure connection. ]

[fail!private to Dean:]

Your NV's still connected, so you've gotta still be here. Right?

[ "It's okay, Dean. It's gonna be okay. I've got him." ]

I went home, for... a while. Now I'm back.

[ There's an understated "Can you come and get me?" ]

I didn't think it was. And it was not without it's cost.

[He can't lie about that, but he's pretty sure that Sam would prefer to know he's not in the Cage forever even with the side effects of his soul spending that long in Hell.]

[ That little enigmatic bit gives him pause, but he won't ask. Not yet. He has to bite his tongue to keep from it, but somewhere, he knows logically that hearing about this mentioned price right now can only make things worse. ]

... Right. [ He swallows. ] Makes sense.

Is someone coming to find you?

[He will if necessary, though every nerve is tense at the thought of going near Sam while he's high on any sort of supernatural blood.]

I'm with my mom. [ And he'll surely see Dean soon enough. ] Thanks, though.

[He nods, not at all sure what to say or do about this situation, more than a bit stressed about what might happen. But Sam needs time to resettle in, and Castiel has an option he can take to try to fix some problems before they arise.]

[He pauses, feeling like he should say something else, but instead he just cuts the feed for now. He has to go talk to his Father.]
