[Jane comes into focus after some fiddling with the camera. She's in her mid-twenties, pale, slim, with larger-than-life brown eyes and pink, full lips that are usually coated in red lipstick, but today are not. She settles back into the chair she's sitting in, her upper body in frame now.  It's ridiculously early in the morning, but she looks wide awake. Worn, but awake.]

Good morning...if anyone else is crazy enough to be up right now.  Or still be up, as in my case.
I'm Jane. I'm currently staying at Jesse's house, apparently with someone named Lisbeth but I haven't met her yet, so I couldn't tell you. Yosuke got me back in touch with Jesse.  Thanks again for that, by the way.  And I have your clothes.  I'm just washing them first.

[She pauses to take a cigarette out of her pack, lighting it and taking a deep drag.]

This is kind of a hello as well as a see you later?  I'm feeling a little bit...under the weather and I hear it only gets worse before it gets better.  The pull or whatever? Anyway...the point being, I'm probably not going to be posting here for a little while. At least until I'm feeling better.  I might reply to texts if I'm even feeling up for that.

[She doesn't bother to go into the fact that it's not just the pull sickness. She's just begun to go through some serious withdrawals, but she doesn't feel it's necessary to tell people about her issues. Let them judge her for other things, not that. She judges herself enough for that. Jane leaves her contact information for Yosuke ((though anyone wanting to access her via NV is welcome to do so)).  But she's up and about for now, so she'll link up with whoever is around until she gets to feeling too bad.]

How long is that? It's probably a bigger deal to some than others...being uprooted like this.

No, not really. Most people leave much sooner than that.

Leave? How? I thought we were all just...stuck here.

Has no one explained the situation to you?

Bits and pieces. Even the stuff that's been explained isn't making much sense, though.

I know it's probably hard to believe, but you need to take what you've been told as truth.

I didn't think I was being lied to--it's just a lot to take in. In all, I haven't been told much anyway.

Jesse might be able to clear up anything you might be confused about.

Yeah, Jesse and Lisbeth have been answering questions here and there for me. It's a lot to process.

Lisbeth should be able to tell you anything that Jesse can't. She's very smart.

I figured that. My guy is going through the same thing. [At least I got here after that whole fiasco.]

Besides, you don't really strike me as a 'Gustavo'. Currently, anyway.

The same world? [Yep, still doesn't make sense].

Albuquerque, you mean?

[businesswoman]

Yes, Albuquerque. From the same time, perhaps, as well. Are you familiar with Los Pollos Hermanos?

[janesaysdbaa]

Vaguely...as in I ate there once and got food poisoning. So I can't say that I'm a fan. Why?

[businesswoman]

[This is Gus's genuine horror. Food poisoning? At his restaurant? Boy, his employees are lucky he's not in Albuquerque right now or they'd be getting seriously boxcuttered talked to.]

I'm so sorry to hear that, ma'am. I promise you, that's a very unusual occurrence. I maintain very strict health standards at my restaurants. I hope you'll allow me to make it up to you when we open our new location here... I'll be personally overseeing the kitchen, of course.

[Whoops.]

If it's of any consolation it was good on the way down?

It wasn't any time recently, anyway, so no hard feelings. When is your restaurant opening here?

[businesswoman]

Soon, I hope. We're working on it now. This... [He glances down at himself -- herself -- with a sardonic raise of the brow.] ...has, luckily, not proved a setback so far.

[janesaysdbaa]

I don't see why it would get in the way of business. There are worse things to be than a woman. [The feminist in Jane is offended. Slightly. She knows better than to pick apart words too much.] Besides, I hear it's temporary.

[businesswoman]

[Gus does not rise to this bait. The eyebrow gets turned on Jane, with a calculated half a placating smile.] No, but getting used to a new set of anatomy did take some time. Not to mention the clothes.

[janesaysdbaa]

That's true, I guess. A lot of people seem to be wearing their old clothes. Those that can still fit into them. [She stifles a smile. It's kind of amusing, this whole thing. With the withdrawals causing insomnia, she's not exactly in her right mind. Lack of sleep does that to a person.] Good luck with opening, anyway. Let me know when you have a date secured and I'll check it out. [Beat.] I'm looking into setting up shop here myself.

Oh? What kind of shop?

[janesaysdbaa]

Oh, nothing major like your franchise or anything. Just a tattoo shop. It's what I did back home, only the shop wasn't mine then--I just worked there part-time.

[businessman]

Well, I can't say I'll be frequenting it, myself... but I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks. Yeah, tattoos aren't for everyone. I don't even have any myself, actually.
