[Yay, Jesse's home from rehab. He's not looking much like himself at all, though. The network is spared ten minutes of him checking out his new rack, because he did that off-camera. Now, though... Now is the time for posting.]

[Gus raises a brow at that, letting the silence fill the space where a reply would go.

There's gotta be some angle, right? I mean, he ignores me all summer and then you show up and suddenly he wants me working with him again? Like partners? Like good pals? Yeah. I ain't as stupid as I look.

I dunno what he's been doing there. I dunno how strong he's gotten or how many people he's got working for him now or anything. But I bet I'll find out once I'm back in the lab with him. And then whatever shit he's up to? I can stop it before it starts.

[It would be smart, in the hands of someone more competent at Walter White-related matters than Gus is fairly sure Jesse is. But this version of the plan? No, he's fairly certain it's exactly as stupid as it looks.

From our last meeting, it sounded as though you believe him to be a very dangerous man now.

I'd like to hear your impressions of SERO sometime, by the way. I've been convinced to remain neutral for the time being, but...

Yeah. I'll probably have to wait 'til I'm back to normal before they'll register me, but I'll let you know what it's like once I'm in.

There may be more to interest you there than just Walter's work. Perhaps they'll give you a lab, too.

And? He has consistently underestimated you, Jesse. He didn't believe you could run my lab, either.

[He almost - almost - defends Walt. The words are right there and he opens his mouth and immediately trips himself up. God, what's he doing? Gus is right. Walt bet on Jesse screwing up and getting killed, and then he was pissed when it didn't happen. Oh, sure, he was real nice when he came to pick Jesse up from rehab. But it's probably going to go right back to all the lectures and the orders the second they're in the lab. Jesse can't let himself forget that he's a boss now. And why wouldn't SERO want him just as much as they want Mr. White?]

...Yeah. Maybe I'll impress 'em.

[That sounds so sincere that Jesse wishes he could find his future self and punch him in the face. Why'd you screw up such a good thing, man?]
