[Alice has set up the video so she's got her entire body in-frame. She's in a large white room, obviously in the middle of some serious construction. Tarps are spread out on the floor, and there's wood and metal piled everywhere. On the back wall behind her, a large mural of intricate curls sits half-finished.]

Well, I hate to be doing this so soon after Jinx's announcement- I don't want to steal her thunder at all- but it's been coming for a while

[Drum roll please!]

I'm opening up a bridal shop!

[She spreads her arms out and twirls, looking a little too much like a little girl. Look at it all! Isn't it beautiful?

She's just really exited about this, okay, don't judge.

Eventually she stops spinning and faces the camera again, this time with a giant smile.]

Well, it's more of a planning agency and boutique. We'll be doing planning as well as custom clothing for the wedding party. Now for the boring part.

[Except she looks anything but bored. She's practically clapping like a seal, if we're being honest.]

Right now, I'm looking for specialized employees! Specifically, I'm looking for a few seamstresses, preferably with a good, solid background in design. I'm also looking for one or two planners to assist me. I'm definitely looking for experience here. But, I might make an exception if you can really wow me.

Most importantly, I'm looking for a personal assistant, someone to do odd jobs around the office, pick up packages, take messages, that sort of thing.

Don't really see a lot of people lining up to get married in a place where your spouse can up and disappear the next day.

I'm catering to both newcomers and natives. And you're very wrong. I've already done a newcomer wedding, and it was very lovely.

I take it this is more like Vegas then? You do something stupid here and just don't talk about it if you get home.

'm sorry, do you have something against marriage?

Oh-- um. [ she's sort of fiddling with the buttons on her coat, blushing a little. ] I can sew. Or.. run errands, or..

[ a pause, finally lifting her eyes, wincing slightly. ] I've never actually written a resume, though. We don't really have them where I'm from.

[ but then she brightens. ] Oh! I do have a reference, though, if that helps? I used to work for Mr. Gold, if you're familiar with the name.

Oh, I know of him. I went to his auction and party the other night. I'd be happy to take the reference.

I'll ask him to write one, then. [ a small, slightly wry smile. ] I think he owes me that much, at least.

I'm sure he will. I doubt he'd do something to stop you from getting a job.

[Not that she'd refuse to give anyone a job straight out, but the reassurance of references means a whole lot.]

In the meantime, can you tell me a little about your experience?

[ well.. one never knows. she likes to think he'll realize she needs to keep busy, though. ]

Well, it's not-- I mean, my world isn't really like this. Originally, I mean. [ a pause. ] Oh dear, it's complicated. I suppose one might suffice to say that much of my original clothing was made by my own hand. Perhaps I might bring in a sample of my work when I bring my reference?

That'd be wonderful, actually.

[Hard evidence is always better than the words of others, of course.]

Do you have much of your were here in Port?

Well, I don't have any sewing experience, but I am a very organized person.

Really?

[Hmmm...]

Are you good with paperwork and computers?

I did set up my family's wireless router at home and I'm usually the one who fixes computer problems in the house. I've also got neat writing and good reading comprehension, so I can't see any reason why I wouldn't be good at paperwork.

[She laughs.]

You sound like you'd make an excellent secretary.

I'll tell you what, you come down to the shop, and I'll put you to work on some paper I've got backed up already. You do a good job with it, you might have a new job.

Consider that paperwork taken care of.

Actually....when are you free to come down?

I can stop over in a couple of hours, if you'd like.

[Just let her go through the painstakingly long process of covering herself with SPF 85 and covering up as much as she can while still remaining fashionable.]

Perfect! Here, the shop is at [insert address here], I'll keep the door unlocked so you can come right in.

All right. I'll see you in a couple of hours.

[She's fairly confident that she can do a good enough job to get the secretary position, but she'll make sure to do whatever she can to make a good impression nonetheless.]

[Heeeee, so excited.]

I'll be in the back, just yell when you get in! Be careful getting here!

[Layla cuts the feed then and begins to get ready. First things first, she'll wash. After drying off, it's time to apply sunblock everywhere that could conceivably be exposed to the sun, and then cover up without sacrificing fashion sense. Fortunately, it's fall, so it's the perfect time to sport a stylish coat. Combine that with some knee-high boots, an umbrella and some sunglasses, and Layla manages her desired goal relatively well.

She moves quickly when she's outdoors and not in the shade until she's finally there.]

Alice? It's Layla!

Oh, wow! It looks really amazing, Alice.

[You get clappy hands Alice, Ahiru.]

Thank you, but it's only halfway done right now. One more week, unless one of the men makes up his mind about running away with his neighbor. He keeps flopping so I can't get a good look at the future just yet.

A good look at the future? Oh - oh, wow! Is that your power?

It's one of them. It makes watching TV hard, I always kind what's going to happen.

I bet people ask you for advice a lot!

You don't know the half of it. At home, my family comes to me for practically everything.

[She puts on the best (fake) weary look she can muster.]

It's tiring.

I can see why they would! It must be a pretty useful power.

It's saved us more than once in the past, believe me.

Plus, seeing the stock market in the future really helps/

Oh, how wonderful. I'd love to lend some part-time assistance, if that conforms to what you're looking for.

I'm looking for all sorts of help, really, availability is no problem.

Great. I'd be delighted to help, then. I planned my father's wedding, so I have experience. I'd love to help design dresses, too.

When can you come in for an interview?

I can come tomorrow if you'd like.

Oh, could you? That would be perfect. I'll have all this mess cleaned up by then, too.

[She's just way too enthused about this.]

How exciting! Would you mind associating with a flower shop to take care of the flowers for your clients?

Could you tell me about your products and pricing? I am looking for flower vendors, but I'm aiming for a specific clientele.

Sure!

For now, since we are just starting out, the prices are fairly cheap. A dollar for a single, and it increments with each flower bought. We do have a special that is $10 for a dozen of anything, but $11 for a dozen roses as they are such a high commodity!

If you can find it at the greenhouse here, it is in the store. It's amazing that all of them are in season at all months, and growing them doesn't take long at all compared to back home. The greenhouse attendant mentioned specifically that they were engineered that way.

Are you equipped to handle bulk orders? Hundreds of table pieces or more?

I think my employees are trained enough to handle something like that. [ If she can handle a war, she can handle something like that. ]

What about exotic flowers? Do you have the capacity to grow them?

How exotic are you talking? If it can be grown in a controlled environment, I'm sure I can figure out a way to grow them.

Well, I'm expecting my clients to want more than just plain old roses, let's say.

That I can do! A flower shop is more than just the basics, after all.
